Amazing

Amazing, as is expected with any of the Disney facilities. Tee times were spread out enough, allowing a comfortable pace and not feel rushed by the group behind. One recommendation that I have is to take your time and read all the signs on the course…there is quite a bit of history regarding its stint on the PGA Tour.

I look forward to not only playing this course again, but also its sister course, The Magnolia.

Take your kids to Disney golf

My husband and I took our 6 year old granddaughter, who is learning to play, to LBV. We told the starter that we would not hold anyone up because she tees off and then putts, so there would be no delays. The staff was more than accommodating, and even encouraged her play. As it turned out, the foursome in front of us were fairly slow, so she had opportunity to take a few more shots than we anticipated. She loved the Disney themed holes and thoroughly enjoyed her experience! This was my husband and my second time playing here, and we enjoyed it as well. The conditions were good, especially given recent hurricanes in the area. We were also lucky enough to get beautiful weather. A great day!!

Decent but not worth the price

I had high expectations for this course given its Disney reputation and price, but it didn’t quite live up to them. The course conditions were passable, but not particularly noteworthy. It was disappointing to see a lot of unrepaired divots and ball marks on the greens, along with bunkers that hadn’t been properly raked. It seemed like the kind of wear you’d expect from a course that caters to vacationers just passing through.

The driving range was a letdown as well. The range balls were in bad shape, and the overall maintenance of the practice area left much to be desired.

On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, and the pace of play was decent, but with so many better-maintained and more affordable courses in the area, I don’t see myself coming back.

Holes were pretty basic and straight. Not much character.

Overall, the course was in good shape. A lot of the holes were straight with not many doglegs. I prefer to have to pick spots in the fairway vs just a straight hole. The greens were in decent shape but slower than I thought they would be.

Great layout ruined by course condition

I have played this course before and enjoyed it but this was by far the worst condition I have ever experienced on a WDW golf course. Wait until the course condition improves before playing. WDW also offering 15% off of green fees as they accept course is in poor condition.

Good Track!

The Palm is a solid, straightforward track with no tricks or gimmicks. It’s in good shape from tee to green and offers an enjoyable and fair challenge of one’s golf skills so long as you play the correct set of tees commensurate with your ability. The greens are smooth, healthy and devoid of severe undulations. For me, the greens were a bit slower than I prefer but they rolled true. My one criticism is that some of the cups looked like they had been cut with a dull butter knife as they were ragged, grassy and indented around the edges. I might also add that the pace of play was good. So, if you are visiting Disney and are looking for a golfing diversion to the parks, you’re not going to find a better place to scratch your golfing itch!

Wait for better conditions

I played on 9/16 with my daughter and her boyfriend. I knew from an email received after booking that we were going to be playing cart path only which surprised me. We had played two days earlier at Reunion on the Palmer course and couldn't have asked for better course conditions. Lake Buena Vista however was in abysmal condition, I don't think I've ever even played on a course in worse condition, and I live in the Seattle area and play through the winter. None of us enjoyed the round, and after playing I felt really taken advantage of paying almost $400 for the three of us and one club rental. Even at half this rate I wouldn't have played if I'd have known what we were in for. There should have been some kind of warning about the condition of the course. I repeatably picked up my ball from a plugged fairway lie and placed it in the rough just so I could play from grass. I've been playing over 25 years and have never seen anything like it. The grass on the fairways reminded of looking at someone who just got a really bad hair plug job.

I have played there three other times, and all were great experiences so don't write it off. Paying full price for this experience without a warning left a bad taste in my mouth. I doubt I'll be back. I rated the course extremely challenging only because of its condition, normally I would have given it a fairly easy to moderate

Maintenance…

Greens have just been aerated and top dressed. Additionally, they appear to be preparing for over seeding as the fairways were in very rough shape.

Conditions

On arrival we were told it was cart path only which was a disappointment as this was the first we knew and would have changed our mind and played somewhere else, having said that the greens we’re great and the layout is very good

Magnolia Golf Course

It’s a lovely course but not sure play should have been allowed that day. Fairways were extremely wet from previous rains and cart path only. They were so wet that even walking in fairways was a challenge do to mud and wetness. I played with my husband and the ladies tees were usually quite far from the cart path while the men’s tees were right on the cart path. In addition construction and temporary holes were not enjoyable. I was disappointed because we had so looked forward to an enjoyable round. The staff were lovely and helpful. The course was not worth the green fee because of its condition. Had I realized how bad it was I would never have played that day.
