The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Great hole! Photo submitted by dongolf0123 on 04/21/2014
The Lake View Course at Callaway Gardens was actually unplayable due to wet conditions so they moved all tee times and golfers to the Mountain Course which created quite a slow down and a very congested course.
Despite the slow play we enjoyed the round which took almost 5-1/2 hrs to complete.
Callaway Gardens should have advised that the LakeView course was unplayable and not allowed tee times. They did their best to accommodate all of the golfers but it just created a painfully slow day.
End of year outing
Had a great time and the course was excellent for the time of year,CANT wait to get back in the springtime
Father & Son Game
The night before lots of rain from the Hurricane, so first few holes the course really wet, as the day went on it misted rain, so soggy day. The course is beautiful and plays well. We only saw a couple other groups. Very playable with some easy and tough driving holes. Great time!
Fairways and greens in very good condition.
Outstanding
Played the first tee time in the morning at 8:00 so there was no pace of play issues. All of the course staff that I interacted with during the three days I played there were outstanding. The club house is very well stocked and the attendants were very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was also above average with great service. This is the "easier" of the two courses on property but it is still challenging with great views of the lake in the middle holes. If you are looking for tough , play the mountain course, for a very enjoyable day play this gem. Highly recomend.
Beautiful Day at Callaway Gardens
The course is in great shape. The rough is dryer than the summer months so drives off of the fairway will not penalize you as much. Lots of players on the course so the pace of play was slower than usual.
Open Course
You start with some tree lined, although not tight, fairways and then move to a much more open layout. It's a short course. Teed off with less than driver on several holes. Smaller greens same as the Mountain course, and a lot less sand traps than the Mountain course. Played the first 8 holes in 1.5 hours and the last 10 holes in a little over 3 hours. Caught up to 2 foursomes who were not in any rush and didn't let anyone play through. I was by myself with a twosome in front and a 4-some behind. Had to wait on every hole from 9 on.
Fun Course
Have had friends play at Callaway but this was the 1st time I was able to. Played with a friend I hadn't seen in several years. We played tees at about 6500 yrds which is a little long for us and added to the challenge. Good variety of holes. Didn't feel like you were playing the same hole over again. Thought the greens were on the small side. The greens are still recovering from being aerated and could be bumpy in places. Would play again.
Nice course, could use a few improvements
Needs at least one water station and a restroom other than a portalet. Better signage (directions) would also be a plus.
Had a great day
As always, the course is very pretty and well maintained.
Greens could be better, but grass has life cycle. I don't criticize them. It is my luck. The grass cutting crew was behind us, so naturally it was hard to find the balls especially when you hit them into the rough. Having said all this, my wife and I had a great day out here. Thank you.
Course with a view
Hole 10 over the water is amazing!
Enjoyable course - not too challenging…
Recommend playing it!
Lake View
Challenging course, thick Bermuda rough and tight fairways, if ball goes 2’ off fairway good luck finding it!! Greens were okay no fringe went from fairway cut to green, lots of unrepaired ball marks unfortunately and greens were really bumpy.. good for a GolfNow hot deal but would never pay full price here though..
First round
Great place to play! Everything about it was great even the staff. Definitely would play again when I can get back up this way. Lake view was a shorter course. Good layout but wind was whipping today
