About Callaway Resort & Gardens
Callaway Resort & Gardens is a 2,500-acre retreat in Pine Mountain, Georgia, about an hour's drive from Atlanta. The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

First Impressions
Course layout is very good. They need a Marshall to keep resort golfers moving . We skipped one hole to get around 2 groups - we finished 5 holes in front of that group - we played the back nine in well under 2 hours after a 2 and a half front nine. Rough is tough , you want to keep it on the fairway - ball is hard to find in the rough- Greens are ok - you need to make sure you are playing the right tees to make this enjoyable.
Average
Nice course and fun layout. Some very challenging holes. Biggest problem with the course is the greens. Some are in very tough shape and all have some sort of pebble based sand spread over them. Worth playing if you use a Hot Deal.
It’s a golf course
If it’s more than $50 on golf now - don’t book it. There are better options.
quick round at Callaway
Course was a little rough because the hurricane dropped 7 inches of rain and staff has not had time to mow 36 holes. fairways ,and rough were just cut .tees and traps were not done yet. greens were slow and bumpy in spots. pace was really fast, finished in 3 1/2 hours,
PERFECT DAY FOR GOLF
TEES, FAIRWAYS, AND RUFF WERE PERFECT.
GREENS WERE EXTREMELY SLOW. G AND WERE ADDING SAND AND FERTLIZER TO GREENS. SANDTRAPS NEEDED A LOT OF WORK.
GOLF RATE WAS HIGH PRICE AND PACE WAS VERY FAST. 3 1/2 HOURS FOR 18.
Course is in good shape, very fun and very playable. some of the greens are need some work, but not nearly as bad as some previous reviews make it seem.
Fall fun at Callaway
I took my grandson to Callaway to play,it was only his fourth time playing. We both enjoyed the course and beautiful day.
Greens
The course is in good condition from tee to fairways. But once you get on greens you might need your driver. Furry would be an understatement. Not sure if they are having issues but the greens are terrible right now.
Greens have been terrible for at least 2 years. Could be longer - I just moved here.
