Was expecting more
I played with three others we all were strangers but great people. We stopped play at 11th hole because sitting for too long waiting for groups ahead. No ranger we could see to try and move pace and between bats and heat we all said it’s not worth it and left! Terrible experience!
Starting to get there…
So I’ve played the Pine Lakes course quite a bit and I’ve been watching great dunes grow in as it’s just been rebuilt.
Greens are a little bit slow. If you get the ball online, it goes where you aim, tea boxes are hard as a rock so make sure you bring solid, sharp golf tees. Now the fairways, which were a little rough coming out of the winter are starting to really grow in nice. I would say definitely pay attention to yardages since the greens seem to be very bouncy and you definitely need to control the flight of your ball.
Can’t wait to go back in a few weeks
Fun course with great ocean views
This was a fun course for myself, wife and two kids to play. The starter was very knowledgeable and kind even though we had kids! The course is in good condition for newly opening. There are still some places that need care but overall it didn’t seem to affect play. The carts were a little annoying as they shut off when you got off the cart path in places but you also can’t always tell where you are supposed to be on the path! The cart paths are sand. I would play again and we got a deal on playing in the afternoon.
Great Dunes May 2026
Overall, it's a nice course, well-maintained, but nowhere to get out of the heat when turning around.
Great Layout but Needs Work
Beautiful course but needs work. There are 3 courses on site and two have been upgraded. We were told Indian Mound will be next. Still very playable but some greens and fairways need work.
Pine Lakes
The course was in excellent condition given the rains we had over the previous 3 days. The fairways were firm and there were no holes that were designated cart path only. Perfect weather and paired with a great twosome making the experience memorable. One of the best values in the southeast Georgia region.
Save your money
Indian Mound may look inviting, but I implore you to save your money. The conditions on this course would barely be passable if it were a municipal course charging $30 for 18 and a cart. Unfortunately, at more than double the cost, it’s a total waste. The greens are largely unattended, with even some of them having weeds growing on them. The fairways are extensions of the rough, just cut lower. In some cases, they are littered with bits of dirt that render your ball a muddy mess. The tee boxes are similarly overgrown; a feature you’ll have plenty of time to notice because the pace of play on this course is consistently horrid. I’ve played 3 times (shame on me) and it’s not uncommon to be waiting on the tee boxes and fairways of every hole. I’ve seen 4-5 groups on par 5s on multiple occasions. As if the on-course experience wasn’t bad enough, the halfway house also leaves much to be desired. It functions primarily as a restaurant, with a menu and prices to reflect it. I ordered a hot dog, and received a lukewarm, foil-wrapped dog to the tune of $15. I’ve played hundreds of rounds of golf, and can honestly say I’ve never heard of a hotdog that expensive. If you enjoy paying nearly $100 for chewed up fairways, 5 hour rounds, and sweaty pork products, please play here. Otherwise, cough up an extra $15 and play somewhere else. You’ll thank me later
Great Duned
Incredible value for a seaside golf course. New layout very good miss the back 9 of old Oleander. They kept all of the old Great Dunes and made it better
Enjoyed this course
This was our first time playing this course. Enjoyed the layout, course both fairways and greens in very good condition. We did find ourselves always waiting for the group ahead and the group behind us was always at our tail.
So other than the waiting this course was well worth playing and I'd recommend it to others.
Indian Mound
Greens were pretty bad shape, tee boxes had high grass. Course needs some attention
"Play it again sam"
Very active and well maintained course but needs more water and restrooms. Overall 4 out of five.
Bad value for current condition
The course is in rough shape as it’s still young. However, with a recently renovated course that is supposed to be their top course they left a lot to be desired. The cart paths were terrible. Signage is terrible. Rough fairways, tee boxes and greens that aren’t fully developed is understandable but the rest of the course should have been pristine. The views and scenery at the course left me a bit disappointed. The layout is nice. They have no business charging full price ($145) until they either finish the renovation or it’s in better shape.
No great shape.
After seeing the other 2 courses on the property the fairways and green conditions on Indian Mound were very disappointing. The other courses looked pristine. We had the course to ourselves basically so pace of play was good. I liked the layout.
