Oleander holds up for February golf!
Greens were true and fast. Grass not really growing in just yet. Layout is really challenging as they had at least 4 sets of tees. The carts have gps and pin locations are given out at tee starter tee box. Fairway's and rough were full of mostly dormant grass but it works. Pro shop is stocked with great merch. Also had a discount rack. Staff is very helpful. Gators are on course near water so be careful!
Worst greens ever
Played it today. Greens were literally the worst I’ve ever played on and I’ve played at least 100 courses. Don’t know if it’s poor leadership, lack of money, moronic greens keeper, or some combination thereof, but they’re AWFUL. Pretty course, great amenities, but greens are terrible. Did i mention the greens? Cost me 70$. Was worth about 25.
Good test for your game
Jekyll has some great courses and Indian Mound is one I do enjoy playing. Winter conditions on the greens made them play fast and have lots of roll past the hole if you found yourself on the wrong side. While I was disappointed I could not play Pine Lakes due to the on going renovations, I was please to get out on Indian Mound. Just about every green slopes from back to front and I found myself having a difficult time getting to be in the right spot for putting. If you find your self at Jekyll, be sure to check out Indian Mpund and you might find yourself having a challenging time on the greens but enjoying yourself.
Great for High Handicap
Nicely laid out pretty flat not a lot of water but there is some soft marshy areas in or near the fairways. Greens are extremely fast some areas are scalped with some weeds but overall the greens are in pretty good shape. No drinking water, ball cleaners or trash cans on the golf course.
Very nice, pretty easy course
The course was in good shape, reliable greens, lots of traps and bunkers. Water wasn’t in play much from senior tees. Very scenic surroundings. Zero nearby housing. Still growing into peak season condition.
Mr. David Pleasants ,
Course was overall very good . The only issue is the sand in the bunkers is two deep . 90% of balls in the green side bunkers plugged below the level of the sand . That’s two hard for daily play . Higher handicap players taking two and three shots to get out . Other than that , playing Indian Mound Golf course was a delight .
Muddy
Many holes are very muddy especially on back nine.
Good play
Of course was a little wet, but all in all, it was in good shape. Nice layout I'll be back
very wet and muddy
It was not a day to ride. It was cart path only. Very wet and large puddles even on the cart path. It was much better play the week before, but you can't control the rain.
Condition Dependent
Oleander is a good course, but I wouldn’t go again unless it’s been at least a week since the last rain. The course is below sea level so you’ll find water in the fairways, traps and mainly on the cart path. Slows pace of play way down and takes away from the quality of play.
With normal conditions all the courses on Jekyll are a good value for the casual player, would recommend.
golf at indian mound
I was alone and was paired with a nice gentlemen. I had an enjoyable day of golf!
Better of the two courses we played
Fairways in much better shape than Pine Lakes which we played the day before. Not to difficult but challenging enough with traps and water in the right places.
Awesome course
Forgiving well maintained fairways and greens. Much better condition than sister course Pine Lakes. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Carts were in good shape and zippy. Never concerned about players in front or behind us. Very casual fun round.
