Nice Course / Pretty Easy
This is a well kept course and very open. Greens are in great shape, fairways are plush, and the layout is more than fair. I feel like I scored way better than I struck the ball which indicates to me that the course is pretty easy. With that said, I had a blast! You always do when you score...lol. Look for a Hot Deal tee time on this course and it's a steal! Enjoy!
Jekyll Golf - ALL good
Although the managment and pro shop has changed the golf courses have not. If not for the friendliness of Lou the starter and Bob the cart guy, it would be just another day out. These two guys make coming to Jekyll Island a real fun trip. Be sure to look them up and say hi. Be sure to smile because they do.
Great December Course
Always enjoy the Jekyll courses, but when many courses have brown or white(snow) fairways this time of year. Jekyll courses look like early spring. Highly recommended!!!
Great value
The course was in pretty good condition for 12/7. The greens were fuzzy and slow but still putted true. It was a great value for the money. The only issue we had was a foursome we caught up with on #14 would not let us play through even though we waited on every shot and there was not a group to be seen in front of them. After the round, they were with a much larger group leading me to believe they were part of a league or blitz.
Pleasant Golf Course
A busy afternoon on the day after Thanksgiving however still completed the round in under 4 hours. The course requires some maintenance the fairways needed cutting and the bunkers require grooming. The greens were slow but in excellent condition. I played this course twice this week and enjoyed it both times. You cannot beat the Hot Deal price on Golf Now!
Excellent course value; nice layout
Well maintained course; excellent staff; great grill/food; beautiful setup.
Very nice and walkable course
Indian Mound is a favourite of mine. It's quite challenging and requires good planning on approach shots or one could easily find themselves in one of the numerous traps. The course is well maintained and the damp weather this year has resulted in lush fairways. Also be prepared to see many examples of wildlife, particularly deer which often stroll across fairways unperturbed by carts or golfers. On sunny days, gators can often be seen sunning themselves on the banks of the many ponds. Indian Mound is very walkable and can be played under 4 hours on most occasions.
Lovely desigh in a natural setting.
Challenging, plays longer than it measures, fair. Relatively tight off of the back tees. Trees a definite factor! Green speeds inconsistent and a bit slow. Guessing due to the winter rye coming in.
At times it was difficult to focus on your game, due to the numerous island deer bounding about the fairways and resting near the tee boxes!
A real bargain and a definite repeat.
This golf facility is a gem!!!
Stopped in while on an RV road trip. The entire facility is well maintained with an extra friendly staff. After a shower we hit the putting green and driving range. Lou, the starter, set us up, and we teed off on a gorgeous course, which was the best value I have ever played. Everything was maintained and manicured, and the greens rolled beautifully. We play again on Monday!
The wildlife was great and thecourse fantastic
everyone makes sure you are enjoying the experience
Nice natural setting beautiful Oaks and lots of wildlife.
I enjoyed playing this track. It was a very natural setting with lots of deer, gators, etc...Beautiful Oaks line many of the fairways. Overall the course was well maintained. Greens ran well and had good speed. Tee boxes in good shape and fairways well maintained. It was an enjoyable round.
Rude Starter Ruined the Experience
First, the course is fine. It is an interesting design and in good condition. It was very muddy despite lack of recent rain, so there may be a soil drainage issue in areas. I booked an early "Fast Play" tee time through GolfNow and teed off before 8 as a single. I played the front in 1:10 and enjoyed the course. I got to the 10th tee and found two foursomes waiting to tee off. I asked the starter what was going on and he told me they were using split tees because they had a lot of players and one course was closed. My response was that was a business management issue and not a cause to ruin my round. To which he said, "what are we supposed to do?' The obvious answer is don't take so many tee time reservations if you have a course closed, or don't close a course on a busy day. Either way, jamming foursomes ahead of the early tee times was rude. Needless to say, the back side took 2:25 and I found myself waiting 10-15 minutes on every tee. The twosome behind me quit. The threesome behind them caught up to me on several holes and said they would not be coming back. I had a chance to play several more rounds during my vacation, but opted for other courses because of JI's lack of customer service.
This would be a four star course if not for the management.
Indian Mound is a fair and fun course to play.
The greens were a bit on the slow side but that is expected for a course that gets as much play in a state park. The layout is straight-forward and there is not a lot of water hazards, but the ones that exist do come into play. It was in good shape for this time of year and you can't beat the price through Golf Now!
Excellent course
Great course
Green and fairways were. Great
Very scenic and a friendly staff
nice suprise
This course had a nice layout, great clubhouse and was in decent shape, excellent fairways but slow greens.
Great coastal golf
Played Oleander, some fairways were thin but otherwise in good shape.
Eden
Beautiful. Manicured to perfection. There is absolutely nothing negative to be said about their entire operation; management, maintenance, staff or dining facility.
Very nice course, very well maintained.
All areas of the course were in very good condition. Really appreciated number of tee choices, we played the Gold which fit our games nicely.
Always nice
Would be pristine but had much weekend tourney play and traffic.
Lots of wildlife!
We played a couple days after the Georgia-Florida tournament. The course was in good shape. I couldn't tell they had just had a tournament with 350 players. The course was still pretty wet from the rain the day before, so some of the bunkers had packed sand/needed raking. They can't control the weather. Plenty of animals on the course. We saw alligators, deer, red tail hawks, turtles, etc. Great value for the money and the pace of play was excellent. We will definitely be back. Also, the Golfnow.com transaction was easy and didn't have any hitches.
