The greater Mauna Lani development has over three miles of Big Island beachfront. There are five open-air restaurants at the resort featuring locally sourced dishes and items. It’s Hawaii- Enjoy it
Course was in pretty good shape and at this time of year (mid-October) it was not crowded the 2 times I played it.
Made more difficult if you playing on a windy day. I’m 79 and enjoyed playing from the forward tees. Also the holes along the ocean are very well done and present a real challenge. In the winter months you can see a lot of whales but in mid-October there were none. My wife is a non golfer but enjoys riding along for the great weather and scenery.
Awesome course
One of my highlights of our Hawaii golf trip. Some breathtaking ocean holes. Moderately difficult layout. Playing from the tips on #15 and making par was my highlight. Still place Kapalua Plantation as my favorite Hawaii course but this one is up there too along with Manele on Lanai.
Beautiful course
Normally I would not play a course this pristine but if I never make it back to Hawaii, I would regret not playing it.
I got my moneys worth on this course. I spent most of the day playing from one side of the rough to the other. The lava rocks had a beautiful collection of golf balls.
I didn’t see the greens as overly challenging, lots of sand around the course and some holes had more narrow fairways. It was fairly windy when we played.
Beautiful course and well maintained, with about 4-5 holes of beautiful ocean views. Staff came around about 4 times offering us water.
Wide Open Fairways
This is the 3rd time for me to play this course. The course in excellent condition and 2 signature holes breath taking by the ocean.
Only concern value for your money.
Beautiful, but a little boring
Amazing ocean views, but all an all, there just wasn’t enough interesting holes. Traps had very little sand (which was strange for an ocean course). And while the greens rolled true, they were super grabby meaning the ball stopped really quickly. Made it really difficult to judge length and felt like putting on carpet. Staff were lovely and pace of play was excellent.
South course ocean views
Amazing terrain with lava or ocean on sides. Lava obstacles and sand traps.
15th hole over ocean water was a personal triumph
Resort course but no Beverage Cart?
Great challenging course with perfect greens and fairways. Golf was perfect. Can’t believe we paid huge rack rates and no beverage cart!!!!!! Would have been nice if they told us beforehand. Even one of the waters they gave us in our cooler had been opened. The second marshal we saw waved and drove by-we had to hail him to get water. Troon should be ashamed.
Best golf course on Big Island
What a beautiful course!! Flawless fairways and generous greens, wonderful views from everywhere, very friendly staff and the #15 iconic and breathtaking indeed. A perfect manicured course!
amazing experience
fantastic golf course. challenging, great condition, stunning holes along the water.
