Nice open course Photo submitted by Devin1073124 on 04/27/2013
Nice course with 3 nine holes. Played B/C
Greens in great shape. Fairways patchy but you can see they are trying to address with new patches of sod. Able to leave my luggage at pro shop. There seemed to be some confusion about the hot deal rate I used upon checking in but no issue arose. Carts had no front glass and no cover on back so when it drizzled got a face full of rain as I drove and needed to use my own bag cover to keep clubs dry. Has a bar and large seating area but a large party was being very loud and bar did not have stools so did not stay after round. Driving range but you have to pay for balls in addition to green fee so I think 9 dollars for small bucket. Had to hit off mats. No beverage cart on course. There was a 6some!!!!! in front of our 3some. Not sure why they allowed it as I noted a staff member talking to them on hole 1 then told us to try and pass them. A couple guys in their group went shirtless after 3 holes. They did allow us to pass them after 9 holes so we ended up finishing in a reasonable time frame but the first 9 holes were slow due to a 6some.
Good Course Super slow pace of play
Went on the weekend enjoyed it but has the longest round of my golfing career 5 hours 28 mins
This is not the course everyone talks about online. I gave it a try since I got a good discounted rate and I loved it. Good course conditions, fast green and excellent amenities. Maybe too much water hazards though. Will definitely replay next time visiting Oahu.
Decent Layout and Good Pace
Played as single (they did pair me up another twosome), on a Tuesday AM. Range was closed (bummed), played A/C setup. Straightforward track, no gimmicks, greens were huge and rolled great. Bunkers don't really have sand, more a hard red dirt, so it's crap and more like a chip shot off hard pan. Pace wes really good, did use any of facilities afterward, no one really around.
Hawaii Prince
Straight forward track, no gimmicks. Not a scenic place just good golf, greens are huge, roll well and wide fairways. Plenty of course maintenance ongoing. Cons: sand traps are not sand, rather a hard red dirt, no beverage cart but did give you cooler with water, range was closed and reason was inadequate, carts and video device were well worn and screen difficult to view. Starter and staff seemed a bit rushed and not clear in communication but I managed, end round no one greeted me or offered to clean clubs, I simply left. Paid $175
Slow Sunday
Nice course in great shape with very friendly staff. Don’t expect scenic ocean views and be prepared for continuous loud commercial jets overhead coming in for landings at HNL. I golfed on a Sunday and it took over 5 hours to complete a round. In the future I’ll avoid golfing on Oahu on weekends .
SLOW!!!
Beautiful day, nice course no marshalling whatever. Took us almost 6 hours to play. Perhaps too many on the course.
A beautiful course
I didn’t know what to expect from this course but was thrilled with what I found. Excellent conditions from tee to green. The greens were fast and smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful. What else can I expect?
Hawaii Prince
Hawaii Prince is a great place for golfers of all skill levels. I consider it my “home” course so it’s proximity to where I live and play here frequently. Getting out early is key to have a decent pace. It often is overbooked or has slower foursomes that get the course backed up if you are not one of the first off. Other than that I highly recommend it.
Fast greens!!
You better know how to read greens. Definitely would play this course again as it was in the excellent condition Staff was super friendly, helpful and courteous. Carts are pretty fast too.
Hawaii Prince
The fairways and greens are above average but the layout is just OK. Pretty wide open without much landscape or views. Staff is just OK-not very welcoming. The cost for what you get is just average. I won’t be playing this course again.
