Nice open course Photo submitted by Devin1073124 on 04/27/2013
Great course
Great course. Well maintained. The price is worth it. I will revisit here whenever I travel in Hawaii.
Nice course to play
The greens rolled really true. Lots of time water comes in to play and you don’t really see it.
Great round of Golf
Really enjoyed the round at Hawaii Prince. The course was in great condition. The fairways were wide and not much hazard playing the A and B nines. The greens could have been a little faster but playing my first round in Hawaii this course was a good start to our golf vacation.
Course was in really good shape
The course was in really good shape, staff was super friendly. It’s a good layout. I played on a hot deal so it was a good value. Not sure if I would have paid the full non-resident rate
Green aeration
Golf Now should disclose in advance the date of the green aeration for each course. I would not have played this course had I known that it had been aerated recently and the putting surfaces were recovering.
What happen
Prince GC was not like this until last year. The construction work messed. Fairway grasses became hard. Pond waters are smelly.
One of the individuals in the club house didn’t want to let us use the tee off cuz we were t Hawaiian residents but that wasn’t one of the restrictions. I tried multiple times explaining I’ve never had this problem before and it wasn’t noted anywhere. He said “well I’m telling you now “ they ended up honoring it. But it wasn’t noted anywhere an unusual request to say…
Windy day
It was seldom experienced to golfing in such a windy day but with fun. Unfortunately greens in A’ 9
are very slow speed due to airation with heavy sand.
Hawaiian Prince C & A courses.
B course was closed for aerating greens. It was a beautiful day and played C & A courses. Everything (staff, fairways, bunkers, etc.etc.) was great except the A course greens had just been aerated and the ball jumped around a little and had to adjust to the slow speed (since C course greens were fast 😊). Love playing the three 9 hole courses.
Ok
I’ve played the course several times and it’s generally an ok course but one 9 was recently aerated. Also, the pace of play is generally slow.
No group managment
We had a group of 10 carts ahead of us. Staff failed to remedy the issue.
Expectation is a somewhat enjoyable experience but that’s hard to achieve with a group of 18 people ahead of you.
Terrible group management
Had a group of 12 carts in front of us, staff didn’t do anything and about it.
Dancing and practice balls are fine but they belong on the driving range.
