About Wailea Golf Resorts (Maui)
Wailea is a Hawaiian resort and residential community in south Maui. It is home to three 18-hole golf courses and a collection of luxury beachfront hotels that offer stay-and-play Hawaii golf packages. Among the brands that are partners with the Wailea Golf Club are the Destination Resorts Hawaii, Fairmont Kea Lani Maui, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Grand Wailea, Hotel Wailea and the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. An Andaz Wailea was also recently added. Fine dining is available at each resort as well as at the Wailea Golf Club's Gold & Emerald course, while an Irish pub is at the Old Blue clubhouse. Five crescent beaches make up Wailea, as well as a Tennis Club and a collection of private homes, condominiums and villas. The Gold and Emerald courses play out of the same clubhouse and were designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Old Blue is the original Wailea course, opened in 1972 and was designed by Jack Snyder.Facts

Challenging but FUN even for the Aaverage golfer.
Course was in excellent condition. Ball sat up in the fairways and the greens were true and easy to read but challlrenging.
Great condition & even better ocean views!
Fairways & greens in excellent condition. Friendly staff. Great Happy Hour food & beverages following our round. Golf. Now discount created great value!
Very beautiful upscale course.
Lovely, well maintained course. Very fair with only a couple of forced carries from the red tees. If you play from the correct tees for your skill level, you should have a great time. The real challenge on the Wailea courses are the greens. Be sure to have the starter explain how to read them or look forward to a lot of three and four putts.
This course has beautiful scenery
While Wialea Gold is the more challenging course, Emerald is the more beautiful. Most holes have views of ocean and/or the uplands of Haleakala. The course has many elevation changes so heed the advice of the cart GPS system. I highly recommend you make time to play this course during your next trip to Maui. Also, enjoyed happy hour food and drink at the course restaurant.
very good golf course
after 2 weeks on maui playing other courses, this was the best, and also the least expensive.
on my next trip, i will play only this course.
great views.....excellent fairways/tees, and the greens were excellent.
thanks golfnow.com for getting me on the couse.
Golf in Paradise!
I really enjoyed playing at Wailea Gold. The course was in great conditions, and the view was amazing all around the course. The elevation changes made gave the course more character and the volcanic formations a very unique touch. I can't wait to go back.
A must play when you visit Maui !
My wife and brother played the Old Blue in April this year (2013) and we all enjoyed the course very much. It was in superb playing condition and the greens were running at about 12 on the stimpmeter which is the way we like it. Stunning views of the ocean, perfect weather and a solid track with no homes to worry about , wide open fairways yet challenging with trees , bunkers and layout of the holes such that an errant approach shot could leave you on the wrong side of a pin with no hope of an up and down for par so a wonderful course to play. We didn't want it to end. We topped the day off with a fantastic dinner at Gannon's just down the road at one of the sister course, the Emerald. We will be back :)
Pace of play was great......felt like we were all alone......
GPS on carts was terrible......no one could fix it as all carts were saddled with the same problem.......not bright enough...
For the price we payed, I would expect a 1st class operation.....I probably will not come back.
Beautiful and Challenging
Great track for all levels of skill. Many well-placed sand bunkers keep you thinking... Best of all the Wialea courses. Great value with Golf Now
Old Blue Still a Maui Gem!!
Having played the Blue Course at Wailea several times before, once again we very much enjoyed Wailea's oldest course. The fairways were in great condition along with the tee boxes. Greens were challenging but a fair test of ones putting ability. GPS on every cart makes shot making a tad easier, and is a great feature. The perfect weather conditions along with a friendly staff made the golf a real treat.
Great experience despite areated greens
We got a great price for a quality track through Golf Now. They had aerated the greens a few days earlier so there were some bumps when you putted but the rest of the course was in great shape. Beautiful course.
Wide fairways and lots of slope for a fun experience
Wailea Old Blue is a fun track. Wide open fairways and lots of elevation changes make for a fun golf experience. Pace of play was slow though, with the round taking over 5 hours.
Views on the course were nice
The staff was not very freindly, course was empty, tried to get out early and they said that since I booked with golfnow.com , I have to stick to scheduled time, seemed to be mad that I booked through golfnow.com. Corse itself was not as plush as it used to be , lot of dry areas and greens were not in great shape.
Play Gold avoid Blue!!!
Played Gold course and would highly recommend playing it. Conditions were great and although the pace was a little slow totally enjoyed playing here. Played here 3 years ago on a previous trip and course was just as great this time as then. Would say it is one of the best on the island next to the Kapalua courses. Try to get a deal off of Golfnow and this place is a steal!!!!
All the accolades given this course are deserved. Fun to play...
Friendly,Friendly,Friendly... staff very professional, course well groomed, great yardage markers as well as GPS. Great track for the short to mid distance hitter. Very good value with Golf Now discounts.
Easy to book
Hawaii golf
Nothing beats golf in paradise. Course was on the ninth day of aerification but was still in pretty good shape. Can't beat the view ans it was still a great challenge. Marshall's did not want to challenge slow play which is my biggest complaint.
Greens need work!!!
This course is definately a fair test and playable for most skill levels. Unfortunately the greens need some work. No two greens rolled consistently the same. Enjoyed the round but would pay a little more and play the Gold or Emerald courses.
Beautiful setting
Very beautiful setting with some picturesque views. Need to hit driver fairly straight but wouldn't say it was a very tight course. Greens were slower than expected and had hard time initially getting the ball to the hole. Tradewinds are not an issue on this part of the island I think as it was fairly calm. Will be back again one day
Hard greens to read
Beautiful views ,very hard greens to read.Fairways are very wide.
An Average Course at Hugely Inflated Price!
I have now played all 3 Wailea courses, and have had the same experience at each. Yes, the course was in good shape, but it was definitely not a "10". The staff in the clubhouse were in a word - rude! I stood at the counter for several minutes while one person answered a couple of phone calls, and the other person never even looked up from her computer! The experience did not improve from that point. The starter ignored me at first, and then rushed me off the first tee ahead of my scheduled tee time. I was supposed to be playing with another single, but he decided to join the 3-some in front of me, which meant I waited on every shot until another single joined up with me on about the sixth hole. The round was comparitively SLOW - about 4 1/2 hours. (I had played Kahili in less than 3 hours 2 days earlier.) Don't pay anything close to full price for this course. There are several other courses on Maui that are in equal condition, for less than 1/2 the price.
