good ocean view course
friendly staff, nice practice area, ocean can be seen from most of course, huge landing areas and green run-offs, (played with my wife who is just starting to play & it was enjoyable for her) well maintained, and Gannons is a nice place for after-round snack.
Perfect! Beautiful course. Great ocean views. Excellent condition.
This is a course worthy of Hawaii. My wife's absolute favorite. Very much a resort course with mostly wide fairways. Try the food at the course restaurant - Gannon's. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all outstanding. We go there to eat even when not playing golf. Reasonable prices as well.
Stunning views from every hole!
Outstanding golf course with absolutely gorgeous views from nearly every hole. Course condition was immaculate. Moderate difficulty but fair. Very friendly for women. Only downside is the staff was not very helpful. Had to ask several times before getting any service or information.
Fun and beautiful
We had a great time playing golf on the Old Blue. Fairway is very wide and beautiful. Very well maintained course. Several holes have spectacular view of the ocean. The sand in the sand bunker is hard and more compacted so you have to hit differently. I think all bunkers need more sand.
Long holes, but wide fare ways which gives room for errors, but still challenging
Love to play this course, challenging but not to the point of taking the fun of playing. Course is always in great shape, the staff is friendly and helpful . The cost is on the higher range but you get all the top end services and emanates.
Absolutely beautiful
This course is design for low handicap like my fiance. I have a harder time but I was able to keep the pace and enjoy the view tremendously. I love the course even it was hard for me.
Course is not for the faint of heart, well kept, very challenging
If my day on the course was to resemble my experience in the pro shop trying to check in ..... I was definitely headed for a bad day. "Reception person" was simply unpleasant, in fact she was downright rude. She could not find my tee time in her system, I had a copy in my phone, didn't seem to help. Had I not pre-paid with Golfnow.com I would have left the course then. I shared my concerns to a fellow player who said "I thought it was just me, ya she's rude." We both agreed it likely wasn't isolated to us and should convey to management our experience of the 1 bad apple. Important to note the Manager and staff otherwise were great.
Golfing in paradise!!!
We had a blast at this amazing golf course. The view is breathtaking with every hole. I've never seen such a pristine fairway like walking on a carpet. We felt like commiting a crime every time we took a divot. It is truly a golf in paradise to be treated like a King and Queen.
Nice course
Was in fantastic condition, but almost felt like you were playing the same hole over and over again (except for Par 3s which were amazing).
I will say I like Makena better as far as layout and views.
Beautiful Views.. bring your camera to take picutres when it is not your turn.
I came from the West Maui, the Kapalua area and traffic to get there was a mess. I left an hour and half before my tee time expecting to arrive a 1/2 hour ahead. I arrived 2 min past my tee time. My group was sent out on time and I followed them out. The starter told me I could tee off and take my time to catch them or go by myself. I caught them on 3 playing normal speed. The whole round we were not rushed. The speed of play was great. The course was great. I and another Gent played from the blue tees and the length of the holes for the most part were within reach on the second or 3rd shot. Greens were nice and big, the speed on the putts was perfect, not too slow or too fast. The cart Girl was great, the staff was great. I had a great time and would play there again. Just give myself more time to get there and warm up.
Very enjoyable course
Thought the course was in great condition, staff was friendly and accommodating, wonderful scenery.....very enjoyable experience.
Old Blue Course - Wailea
Easy straight forward layout. Very difficult greens.
Friendly and challenging at the same time
Great pace of play. Fairways in great shape. Greens in good shape although some brown patches of grass. Grain on greens always makes reading putts difficult. Beautiful views of ocean and neighboring islands.
challenging course in excellent condition.
I enjoyed this course. The play was brisk and the conditions excellent. I just wish that I could walk the course.
Very nice course, beautiful views and in great shape!
The only complaint we had, I called ahead to reserve clubs( new taylormade), for $60, but when we got there, they tried giving my husband an old mismatched set, for the same price. Apparently reserving clubs doesn't exist. They were quite put out when we complained, but they did give him a demo set to use. Everything was great!
The best!
Wow is this course unreal! Even saw whales jumping while I was putting! Only complaint was the group behind us hitting up on us a few holes..If your in that much of a hurry stay at home! First class golf resort wish I played it again but the memories will remain!
challenging with great views
Great resort goolf course, can be tough, but very fair. Very scenic with numerous ocean views
Course has great views, lots of elevation changes and lots of sand.
Very enjoyable on a picture perfect day! Hard to concentrate on golf with whales jumping in the background.
Again, great views
Well designed to work with the trade winds. Course winds through several tunnels and over bridges for an interesting drive. Enjoy the surroundings and forget about not making any putts. It will be a day of 3 putts. A beautiful course with no reason to complain, unless you are a natural complainer.
Great greens, great staff, Gannon's Restaurant has great food and Beverage
Nice views of the whales breaching!! Only one downfall, guy in group ahead of us got a hole in one and didn't even buy us a beer.
