Nice course, fun holes!
Very nice course, starter was outstanding. Helped me get my round off to a good start.
Underated Gem
This course has long been a hidden gem. Aeration was in evidence and not a significant consequence save for a couple of overly sanded tees. Limited acreage has actually produced a superb design with wonderfully challenging par fives and a diverse offering of six spectacular par threes. My only wish is that it was a bit more affordable for this aging Scotsman. The staff is one of the best, likely shepherded by the long standing host pro Randy Bolstad, as good as they come.
Tight layout
This is a good course when you get the right price. Conditions were good but they had aerated the day before and GolfNow let that be known.
Awfully awful
Make sure your daughter doesn’t get sick the morning of your round and have to cancel a tee time. You’re on the hook, and they don’t care as long as they get their $$$. Truly the worst experience and golf course in the Chicagoland area. Very unprofessional, and the pace of play is terrible. Maybe they should take that $$$ and hire a ranger to speed up the pace of play. Just an idea.
Willow Crest
Perfect day for golfing. Weather was great and the staff (Dawn) was even better.
Good shape, bad value
Rented clubs to play and they gouged me for tees, balls, and a glove. I get the glove but the tees and balls irked me when paying $40. Also no towel was on the bag or divot repair tool.
Bragged about having Taylor-Made clubs and while that’s true the clubs were pretty old but worked well enough.
Course was in good shape but the lack of bathrooms was staggering. They looked to be very busy but had all course bathrooms locked so we had to drive to the hotel to use the facilities which could have devastated the pace of play for the whole course had our other cart not stayed behind.
Disappointed for the price to not have basic amenities like a couple of used balls or even a towel for their owns clubs.
Just ok but better options elsewhere
Pace of play was really slow, 4:45! No rangers to keep people moving and we had clueless group in front of us. Course is pretty. Forward tee boxes did not correspond to the card and many were mounded so couldn’t get flat tee off spots. Not worth $70 to walk although good workout was had.
