Grand Traverse Resort & Spa
About Grand Traverse Resort & Spa
The 900-acre Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme became a Michigan landmark in the 1980s on the outskirts of Traverse City as its distinctive 17-floot glass tower was built adjacent to The Bear, a notoriously tough course by Jack Nicklaus. Guests have so many choices among 600 guest rooms and condos, five restaurants and lounges, the Gallery of Shops, four indoor-outdoor pools, an indoor water playground, a 7,000-square-foot spa, a private beach on Grand Traverse Bay, a large health club with five indoor tennis courts and two other courses, The Wolverine by Gary Player and Spruce Run by William Newcomb. The nearby Turtle Creek Hotel and Casino, accessible by a free shuttle, is also owned by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottowa and Chippewa Indians.Facts

Second round of the season was fun and exciting and enjoyed playing Spuce Run as a golf enthusiast. Will try and take an opportunity to play it again if given a chance.
The GTR golf
All 3 of the courses at the GTR are all a great play!
Great course
Loved The Wolverine, greens and fairways were in great shape for early season, course is fair and a good challenge for low handicapped, I played the white and it still presented a good challenge fir my game.
The Bear
The course was in very good condition especially since the season just started here. It is a very difficult course and pretty long. It was cold and very windy which makes the course even harder!
Fantastic layout and course was in pretty good shape for mid April in Northern Michigan.
We’ll be back.
Fantastic
The course was lush and in superb condition.. The layout was beautiful to the eyes and challenging. The holes were well designed and varied.
This will now be one of my favorite courses!.
Superb
A beautiful course for your eyes. Excellent conditions. Could be one of my favorite courses I’ve played anywhere in US
This course was great
The fairways were the best we have played this year. Greens ran true. We are making plans to come back next year.
Great course
Golf course was in excellent shape. Greens were perfect . We had a beautiful day in mid September with 70 degrees. Was a joy to play
good tract
well laid out, fun course. Well maintained. Starter was excellent, not so much for the staff in the clubhouse or the cart guys. Greens were zip fast. Would definitely play again.
Very nice
This course is very nice. 12 of 18 holes can almost hold up to the bear. There is gasoline carts out there, which I think is out of time. Considering the very acceptable green fee, this is a course totally on level with the bear.
A gem in the north
This is one of the best courses I have played in MI. Everybody tells you it is very difficult. It is not. It just asks you to think before you hit. A gasoline cart in such a beautiful environment led to one star less in my overall rating. Its OK to pay the green fee they ask, but 7$ for a small bucket of range balls is too much, especially when the range is not in good condition. A little bit of touch up here and there and it is a real 5 star.
