Shanty Creek

There were two senior foursomes ahead of ys that we could see and learned that there was a large group playing. After 11 holes we couldn’t take it anymore and left the course.

The Summit is a great course for the money. The views are wonderful. The fairways are wide and well taken care of and the pace of play was comfortable. My wife and I played 18 holes in four hours. I’ve played the course (3) times and look forward to many more times.

The course was in great condition except for a couple highly damaged teeboxes, especially hole 10. Staff though made it feel like you were interrupting their day by playing golf. I was ready with tips in hand but got no assistance with bags at any point. The carts also did not have a cooler, which was a bit of a disappointment for such a nice course. This course could do better if they focused on providing the customer with more elevated service.

This course may not be as dramatic as some other higher profile courses in the area, but you will not be disappointed. The course conditions were PGA tour level. It almost seemed like we were the very first group to ever play here. The tees, fairways, and greens were pristine. I've never had so many perfect lies. The greens were stunning! They were perfectly groomed and our putts rolled unbelievably smooth and true. The best part... the greens fees are very reasonable. $45 hot deal! The best value for my money ever. If you have a chance, play here, you will not be disappointed.

For an Arnold Palmer design, I was really expecting more. The tee boxes we used were not in great shape. The staff told us later that because many of the holes were built between ridges that the course stays quite wet, which we noticed right away. The design was OK, but I thought that there were too many sharp dog leg holes especially with the thickness of the surrounding forest.

Elevation changes, green undulations and natural surroundings impress!

Course is in very bad shape.

I’ve been playing here for 20 years. It’s the worst I’ve seen it.

Customer service was exceptionally poor. I’ll never play here again.

This is my favorite course at Shanty Creek. I still think a green fee of $80 is a bit over the top, but it is a good course with challenging dog legs and elevated tee boxes.

Too bad they don’t have the resources to keep that course in the condition it should be in

Greens were moderately fast but need more grass growth. Love the layout, each hole is somewhat unique. A must play if you’re in the area.
