Tee boxes were chewed up and pin placements were ridiculously hard. Pace of play turned into a 6 hour round with no ranger insight. Great layout though.

Great layout! Course was in spectacular condition for this time of year and all the staff we encountered were extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommended course.

Started a little early with a touch of fog and some wet grass but cleared up by 2nd hole, Course was in great shape and greens were true and just a little fast. Hit the fareway and you'll do just fine - it does pay to know where to hit the ball - that's if you can hit where you're aiming at.

Played the Legend 20 yrs ago and then again yesterday. Now I know why I waited 20 years! Course is still difficult as ever and is not really accessible for the mid-handicapper. It’s obvious AP was trying to design a course with only low handicappers in mind. While beautifully visually appealing on most holes, playing demands very accurate drives and approaches. There’s really no approach options that accommodate shorter less accurate players—-even from the white tees, it’s still total target golf. Rather than starting with a gentle handshake on the first hole, AP hits you with a slap in the face with the first tee shot with only a sliver of a visible landing area—-and the course rarely lets up from there. I played Cedar River last year and enjoyed it more but still doesn’t live up to its hype. Conditions of the greens and fairways were just good. Tee boxes beat up. Cart paths are aged and broken up. Proshop and facilities are quite worn around the edges—updates really needed. Staff was super friendly.

We quit after 12 holes and 4 hours and 10 minutes in round. As we headed back to club house ranger was sitting on hole 14 talking on phone and had no regards to how things were not moving....we found the issues hole 16 had three foursome on it and hole 17 and 18 wide open....I guess it pays to be in a big group and do want you want. My son and I had a terrible experience!!

I've never seen this place is such mediocre condition but it's probably been five years since I've played it. Uncut rough, some poor bunker conditions and diseased greens, and don't even bother with the cart paths - they'll be the cause of your lower back pain. Overall it is adequate but not for full retail value. Arnie would want better because the layout itself is fantastic and extremely beautiful, among the very best in the state. It was better only a few years back. Hopefully they return to form and keep up with Cedar River which is miles better condition and value.

Worth the play for the views, layout and challenge. Wish the course was in better shape the week we played. Lots of dry damage on greens and fairways. Greens tee boxes leave something to be desired due to obvious overplay.

Course was in good shape but the pace of play was extremely slow. Ended up skipping holes and still took over 5 hours

This is such a great layout to play golf. The problem is the terrible conditions of the cat paths. This has been and I guess will be a problem that will continue!. Course condition was good!

There were two senior foursomes ahead of ys that we could see and learned that there was a large group playing. After 11 holes we couldn’t take it anymore and left the course.

For an Arnold Palmer design, I was really expecting more. The tee boxes we used were not in great shape. The staff told us later that because many of the holes were built between ridges that the course stays quite wet, which we noticed right away. The design was OK, but I thought that there were too many sharp dog leg holes especially with the thickness of the surrounding forest.

Elevation changes, green undulations and natural surroundings impress!

Greens were moderately fast but need more grass growth. Love the layout, each hole is somewhat unique. A must play if you’re in the area.
