covid tradgedy
I could tell it was a great layout but unfortunately the course was in horrible shape. I felt for the staff that was obviously short and cannot maintain the place. Place is in the middle of nowhere and was told before 2020 that it was a real nice place.
Course is in rough shape
Clearly the course is recovering from Covid shutdown or other issues. The fairways and greens are in poor shape. However, there is evidence they are trying to recover the course. Only play if you get a bargain price
Friendly staff
Course has gone downhill, greens were horrible, fairways were pretty brown as well. Staff was very friendly though and Jose in the clubhouse/bar was friendly and helpful.. Need the course to be in way better condition especially for the green fees.
Warning!!!
Easily the worst conditions I've ever seen, sandy greens, brown fairways, chunks of sod thrown about, absolute trash.
I had a second round booked for later in the week but cancelled it.
Do not book here, they shouldn't even be taking bookings to be honest, because now I'm on holiday and can't find a round to replace the one I cancelled here.
The greens on Lake course
I paid $60 to play on a horrible course. I have been playing Primm from day one. I have never seen the greens on the Lake side so bad. What happened! I still like Primm golf course, but I will not waste money on a dump. I hope the course will see better days in the future or I won’t be going back until the greens are good again. I will always like and remember the beauty of Primm, but after sundays round, wow get it out of my eyes! Horrible conditions!
the desert course which we played was in a very bad condition. T
Not in its normal condition -- this is the worst that I have it seen it over the years! Not worth a drive from Las Vegas just to play . The proshop DID NOT say anything when we checked in--- TERRIBLE !!
Sandy
Course was not in good shape. Fairways were dried out and lots of some large animal droppings?? The greens were sanded (lots of sand). It didn't seem appropriate to charge same amount for Desert as Lakes course. Generally like the layout but just not in good shape.
Almost
Played the Desert course and the greens were heavily sanded but fairly consistent in speeds. Fairways were mostly brown. Sunny day in 70s still made for a nice outing.
Horrible
Worst green conditions I have ever seen. Wouldn’t recommend anyone play this course for at least 3 months. Very disappointed!
Great Trip Opportunity
Excellent price and weather. The course was dry and needed repair in a number of places but still provided an excellent track to play.
DO NOT PLAY HERE
You have been warned . The worst greens I have ever seen . This is no where near a 3.9 . You will be completely disgusted. 85 % of the greens are patched bad . Stay away .
JUNK YARD COURSE
Truly a JUNK YARD COURSE.dead fairways . The greens are in the worst condition I have ever seen . Use to be a gem . The lakes course is JUNK . DO NOT PLAY HERE . You have been warned . 85 % greens destroyed . Sod patches on all the greens . Cart paths are all broken up . Shame on the owners . Close it down . JUNK YARD COURSE .
Horrible conditions
Leaving this review truly makes me sad..I've been playing Primm since it opened 25 years ago..played probably over 100 rounds there..I played yesterday and the conditions were absolutely horrible....every fairway was totally dead and the greens are completely destroyed. The lakes course has always been one of my favorites....The management company has run this beautiful course into the ground..Zero amenities open..no snack bar no Cart girl...wasn't even anyone on 18 to clean our clubs.....only good thing was we played our round under 3 hrs(place was empty)...I hope they sell this place and new ownership brings this gem back.
GREENS!
I have been waiting to play this course again after playing it twice a few years ago. Very disappointed at the condition of the greens. They are repairing them which is a good thing. Hope they get them back in good condition.
Sad
Don’t let the pictures fool you. It no longer looks anything like them. Several years ago I played Primm and it was beautiful but at this point it appears as If maintenance is virtually non-existent. It seems like they are barely keeping the Lake Course in playable shape and the Desert Course is being left to die. Frankly I would be embarrassed to charge someone to play on the course.
What a Shame...
Played 3/4/22
OMG, they have just let this course completely go. Fairway shots ended in thin, cuppy lies within the short, interspersed mixed grasses, bare spots were plentiful, and the course featured greens that aren't green at all (they look like mostly gray/white pressed mud). At least the rock strewn sand in the bunkers was still playable as long as you removed the pebbles. A big portion of the rakes we picked up in the bunkers were broken, too. The bar/grille right now closes at 3 PM, so you can't sit down for a snack or drinks there after your round before the hour drive back if your tee time is 11 AM or later. The pace of play was slow-ish, a few minutes wait on most shots. We finished in just under 4 1/2 hours as a 3-some with a 3-some ahead of us, but if they had a slower 4-some ahead of them... who knows, maybe a lot of lost ball searching as the wind was 15-20 mph with gusts to 27 on this day. Pretty brutal.
On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and accomodating, and the practice facilities are expansive and well worth going early there to work on your short game or hit the range, with practice balls supplied free of charge.
We had played the Lakes Course the last few times and it seemed like it was getting a bit scruffy but still decent, so we decided to go for a little change of scenery and play the Desert Course this time out.
Unfortunately to me, this course was poorly maintained and not worth the drive from Vegas or the green fees. We played with a Hot Deal tee time from GolfNow and $54 was still too much with the 100 mile round-trip drive and extra $20 in gas money you pay in order to play here. Sad, these are two Dye-designed beauties and it seems like they're nowhere near what they used to be.
Well, hopefully it will get better in the future. I don't understand the conditions because we had quite a mild Winter. Maybe they're just letting it go before reseeding new grass for this Summer.
Anyway, at least for now- not recommended.
Course degraded a lot
Use to play there for the last 10 years but course has deteriorated a lot. Greens were in bad shape. Fairways are in bad conditions.
It used to be a little gem but not anymore.
Poor condition
Have not played this course in a couple of years and the course condition has certainly gone downhill. Even the local guys that we partnered with thought the same. If the maintenance continues as it is this course will become unplayable.
