Course is not in good condition
Being a Clark County resident, I had always enjoyed playing at both courses in the past because they were i good shape. For some reason, both courses are in terrible shape right now. Brown spots everywhere, even in the middle of the fairways. Hopefully, it is just temporary because of the cold winter.
Disappointed
I was disappointed in the condition of the golf course. The fairway had a lot of brown grass patches and the greens were in poor condition. I have to believe it's because of water restrictions due to water shortage.
I can imagine how the course will look during summer play.
We got a great price therefore, can't complain.

next time
In Vegas the previous night, was playing with some golfers on blackjack table, mentioned I was playing Primm the next day, they had played it , said it was brown and very hard. Since I was winning on table, started drinking more, blew off the golf. Too much tequila and beer, but won at table, so all good !!
Problem with courses either in southern California or Vegas has been cutback on watering the fairways, greens seem to be ok. But these are mandatory cutbacks, not much golf courses can do. Plus we really have not seen a El Nino here in southland !! Need rain !!! soften up concrete fairways !!
Hi PBYRUM,
Thank you for playing at Primm Valley Golf Club. We are disappointed that we could not provide you with an exceptional golf experience. Our greens are coming out of their winter dormant stage and should be blossoming soon. We hope you will come see us once the course is in better conditions.

Bad condition
I have played this course many times and raved about it to my friends despite the 40 mile drive from Las Vegas. I was so disappointed in the condition of the fairways in comparison to what I had seen before. The gentleman who came with me hated the course. I wondered why it looked and played the way it did when so often it was beyond green.

Place to Play when visiting Stateline!!
Always play here when visiting Primm Valley Stateline casinos! Got a GR8 Hot Deal green fee with Golfnow. Played the Lakes one day by myself & one with the wife! Weather was in the mid 70''s and gorgeous. Course condition was a little weathered due to the previous cold weeks, I have played all other times when in excellent condition. Definitely a must play!!

Challenging lay out..no 2 holes alike
Play the course twice during recent Visit to Vegas...great layout, fun to play. Greens were fast and fairways were a little sparse however it was winter time. Staff was excellent

You need grass to golf
The only way to get a decent second shot is to aim for the second cut. Fairways and greens are awful.

Winter Golf at Primm
Third time playing Primm. Played the Desert Course for the second time and have also played the Lakes course, I prefer the desert.
Got a HotDeal on golf now for $28, otherwise it would have been about $60. For the money it was a great deal. The course was in good shape for winter golf, some dormant areas in the fairways and the greens were a little fuzzy but I am used to these conditions it is the same when I play at home.
The fairways are fairly tight so you need to be accurate off the tee or you will be hitting off the rocks in the desert if you can find it. On the third hole a large coyote was staring us down but he moved on, and it was too cold for the snakes to be out, really watch for them when it is warm.
The staff was friendly checking us in but wanted to charge us $10 each to use the range which seems kind of high.
Pace of play was kind of slow and there was only two of us but it seemed like all 5 groups on the golf course were all together on two holes. We caught up to the other groups on the 5th hole and it took almost an hour and 15 minutes to play 6 thru 9. After 9 we jumped back over to number 1 and played the front again to get away from the other groups. Played the front 9 again in about an hour and there was no one on it. Got back to ten and didnt catch back up to the other groups until 17 so not too bad. Tee'd off about 11:30 and finished at 4:15 so it was about a 4:45 round.
We play this course on the way to Vegas to break up the drive. The course is decent, a little better than most muni tracks, but no where near country club level. The price is reasonable for this type of course and we will hit it again on future Vegas trips.

Great Value - Good Test of Golf - Excellent Practice Facilities
Great course for the money. I played in December so the condition was average, but then again it was December. Played the Desert Course, good test of golf and worth the drive from Las Vegas, maybe play 36 if you are travelling from Las Vegas. I have yet to play the Lakes course but it looks equally as enjoyable. Excellent practice facility, large driving range, grass tee, short game area and putting green. I would really like to play here in the peak season and see the condition. (food and beverage was not so good but I only ordered a sandwich). I will play here again should I visit Las Vegas and have the time.
Hi Gord007,

We enjoyed playing the Lakes course in the middle of winter.
This was our second trip to Primm Valley golf club; the first time we played the Desert course and this time we played the Lakes course. The two courses have very similar undulating greens and hole designs (routing and elevation changes). The main difference between the two layouts is the fairways. The lakes course has much more generous landing areas and more trees, water and vegetation lining the holes. If you are a straight hitter, you won't have any problems on either course, but if you play with a wee-bit of a hook or slice, you'll find the Lakes course more forgiving. Both courses have sculpted fairways that direct errant balls back towards the middle of the fairways. Because of the wider fairways and trees, the Lakes course looks more green and lush, which is probably why it gets better reviews. However, we did not find any difference in scoring on the two courses and have had a great time playing both. The fairways and greens were in very good shape for December 23rd, but other parts of the course seem to be lacking in maintenance, such as rough areas and particularly the green side sand bunkers. The sand bunkers have about 1/4 inch of sand sprinkled over a rock hard bottom. You'll quickly learn to play a ball out of the sand like you are chipping off hard pan. Try a normal sand shot and you'll likely find yourself on the other side of the green from the sand wedge bouncing off the hard bottom into your ball. Overall, I don't believe either course is worth their regular full rate, but for the rate we found on GolfNow, we enjoyed playing the Lakes course in the middle of winter.
Hi gollywoggy,
Thank you for playing at Primm Valley Golf Club. We are happy to hear you have played both of our courses, and it is great to see you identify the similarities and differences. Great course and I love the lay out. You can pick your tee and it's women friendly. My wife loves it too.

It's been better
I've always loved this course. I've seen it in much better shape over the years. It is still playable and I realize it is Decembrr. The fairways were pretty pretty dried out with a patchwork of dead and semi dead grass. Overall, it was still a lot of fun.

PRIMM course quality at Golf Advisor rates
With all the great deals in town (Las Vegas), it isn't often that I will drive 40 miles out of town for a game of golf. HOWEVER, when I saw the $20 offer to golf Primm Golf Course; I couldn't help but take advantage of playing the course. Primm is an exceptional course; the layout, the difficulty, and always kept in good shape.
As usual, Golf Advisor came up with another great deal

Very nice course, worth the drive from town.
Enjoyed the layout and variety of holes. Excellent challenges throughout. Strategic thinking required to score here.
Cons: players are not fixing balls marks, several traps left unraked.
Thank you for your review we are glad that you found our course challenging and that you had a great time. We are sorry about the ball marks and unraked traps, we hope you come back and give us another chance to wow you.
Neveranace
This is a beautiful course but a lot of people are unaware of it. Just happened to find it on Golfnow.com and tried it about 10 years ago and now it has become one of our favorites when we are in the Vegas area.
Thank you for your review, we are happy that you enjoyed the course conditions and that we are atop your list for Vegas area course. We look forward to seeing you again!
Good deal for Vegas
We stayed at the South Point hotel south of the strip; therefore Primm Valley was only a 30 minute drive. The course was not overseeded, but it was in generally good condition. The greens were consistent, but the water hazards were lacking water. A great deal in Las Vegas, but be warned it is a 40 minute drive from the strip...and in California.
Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your time on the course, we are sorry about the lack of water in the hazards but we hope that next time that will not be the case and you will have another great experience!
Primm Desert
Have been playing the Primm courses since they opened. They are among the most affordable, most enjoyable courses in the Las Vegas area. The condition of the courses is somewhat inconsistent, particularly the Desert course, which I played most recently. It is a fun, challenging and rewarding track with several interesting holes requiring more than a little thought to negotiate. Highly recommend these courses.
Hi Kabdnour,
