Great if you're in Primm!
I stopped to play this course on my way to Vegas. The staff members were super friendly. The course has some neat holes alongside some water and greens guarded by bunkers. I booked the tee time and expected to pay $29, but there's an additional required $1 fee for the gps. I didn't think it was a big deal to pay this, but the guy in the pro shop said some people get really angry about it, so beware that whatever you book will have an additional $1 fee.
Another gem in LV area
This is the second time playing Primm Valley and it won't be my last. This is a great course and definitely worth the drive from LV.
Long Drive from Vegas but worth it
Its about a 45 minute drive from Las Vegas but I have played this course several times and its always worth the drive. Fairways are nice and the greens are soft and true.
Beautiful Course
Our first time playing at Primm. We played the Lakes course, and were thoroughly satisfied by the end of our round. The course is challenging, and in July, the heat started to come by the time we finished, (started at 0700). We can't wait to return, and play the Desert course, as well as the Lake again!
THE PLACE TO PLAY
If your in the Las Vegas area and you don't play here you must be nut's.
Views and value galore
The Desert Course at Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, about 30-40 minutes south of Las Vegas, doesn't get near the top-flight acclaim it deserves. The Lakes Course (both are Fazio designs) gets all the rave reviews, but the Desert Course, with its elevation changes, a driveable par-4, true-rolling greens, nicely-placed bunkers and scenic views, definitely deserves to be on your must-play list when you visit Vegas. With two courses on property, play them both and you decide which is better. It's not an easy choice.
Primm, this is how a golf course is supposed to be
I play lots of golf in and around Las Vegas and this is my favorite. We played the Lakes course on a somewhat rainy day (a plus for Vegas golfers). The course was well taken care of and in good shape. The only negative are the sand traps, and like almost all courses in the area are very thin with sand.
The customer service here is the very best of any place I have played and it's apparent that Par 4 Golf Management takes it seriously and hires only those folks that care about the customer. That includes pro shop staff, restaurant staff, cart folks, starters, and cart girls. Even grounds guys were respectful when golfers were in the area. Hats off to Par 4.
I was disappointed to see that the desert course is currently closed and it seemed to be undetermined if it would open back up.
I would highly recommend that if you want a great golfing experience at a top notch course at a very reasonable rate that you would choose Primm Valley Golf Club.
Excellent value
Stick to the Lakes course for now. The Desert course needs work. We played in 2 1/2 hrs. Owned the course. Fairway excellent. Greens a little slow but who can complain when this fine course was $17?
Really nice course
Got a great GolfNow deal caddy for this course. We were very pleased with the condition and layout of the course and would definitely play it again. Stopped in between rounds for lunch and the food and staff were very friendly.
desert course
Greens- VG,ROLLING VERY TRUE,FAST,LOTS OF MOVEMENT.
FAIRWAYS- A LITTLE BROWN AND DRY SPOTS. TIGHT AND ROLLING.
BUNKERS- ALOT,DEEP,GOOD SAND,WELL TRIMMED'
OVERALL- A LITTLE DRIED OUT,IVE SEEN IN BETTER COND.,BUT STILL A GREAT DESIGHN,AND WELL WORTH PLAYING
Play early inthe summer
The course was in very good condition. One thing they could improve on was the bunkers, needed more sand in them.
The lakes
Great course to make you think through your shots. Plenty of room wide open fairways, just have to navigate around the bunkers and set up your best a approach shot:
Great course!
I had an awesome time golfing here. The beverage cart came through 3-4 times throughout our round. All the staff was very nice. It was a very nice course and had a classy feel to it but not too much; people were laid back and causal which I loved. Grass and greens were in well taken care of. Overall it was a great golf experience. I would recommend and I plan on going back.
prime lakes course
Course is in great condition. Only bad thing was the bunkers were quite wet made it harder to make shots out of them, also could use more sand in them to allow for better shot making. Overall course was great to play and I will play again.
Great course
I had booked through golfnow to play the lakes course. I had a last minute meeting come up and so I went to the course early to see if they could move up my tee time. There was a group of 24 going off the lakes course so they gave me the option to go right then or I could go warm up and they would switch me to the desert course. I switched to the desert and went to the practice area. The practice area is AWESOME! Next time I play here I will get there an extra hour early to use the short game area.
The winds were blowing 25+ so the scoring was tough. I still only lost one ball. I played as a single and had the course to myself so I was able to hit some extra shots and practice.
I saw the cart girl 3 times. She was nice. The lakes course had about 100 players on it so she said it was hard to cover both courses. She could have just stayed on the lakes side since that course was much busier but I appreciated her making the time to stop buy and bring me a cold beverage!
Excellent course will play again!!!
Lakes Course at Prim
First time I played this course and I really enjoyed the round, even though the wind was blowing pretty hard.
Always windy
Course is pretty good. It's not vegas but expect the same attitude from the staff.
Too tough for average golfer
I wrote a review of the Lakes Course at Primm and raved about how wonderful it was. It was fun and challenging and in excellent physical condition. Not so with the Desert course at Primm. It was so difficult it took the fun right out and the physical condition of the fairways, greens, and rough was terribly disappointing. It was in dire need of water and grooming.
What a gem!!
This is a course you must play when visiting Vegas. You would never know you are in the middle of the desert. Course was in great shape, very nice practice facilities. I highly recommend this golf course.
Great Value - Good Track
I have not played the Lakes Course in over a year and forgot about the excellent layout, challenging par 3 holes and risk/reward drivable par 4s! I was pared with a first time Primm Valley customer who was wowed by the overall golf experience highlighted by an exceptional and friendly front of the house staff!
