About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Conditions poor
Green aerated and sandy,
Bunkers had no sand just mud.
Pace of play terribly slow.
Overbooked
Way too crowded and course rangers did not help in trying to speed up pace of play.
Needs help
The kid in the pro shop needs a course on friendliness. Usually the older gentleman is very friendly. Some cart path areas could be better, the greens would be good if they had someone go out and blow them off, as every time you putt there’s a 100 different things all over them and makes it impossible to have a straight putt because of hitting obstacles along the way. Soccer holes interfere with putting as well. I’ve golfed here many times and there’s always something that needs to change.
Only good for the challenge
Worth it if all you want to do is challenge yourself. Conditions were just ok. Has maybe 4 Has maybe 4 picturesque holes.
Awesome course, large price tag
Black Bear is a really fun, unique, challenging yet enjoyable course. The only issue I have is the pricing. I've been coming here for years and years, and I am getting priced out. At this point a typical weekend round is now $130-$150. Pure insanity. I love coming here when I can find a weekday hot deal, but you won't see me paying $140 ever.
Great course
Wild Turkey is one of my favorite courses. It is friendly and challenging.
wife learning to play was a great course, well maintained great views and a few challenges
wife learning the game a great course to play Well maintained. some challenges a lot of fun
Nice course except green
The course is nice, fairway well maintained, staff friendly.
But the green condition is below par at the beginning of May.
The course had a recent maintenance that made the green so bumpy.
The ball literally jump and slow down. Every putting is unpredictable.
It may get better over time but confirm with proshop before your booking.
Interesting course
Course is friendly, with many open holes. But is also challenging at times.
carts/sand bunkers/range balls
course was good condition except for a number of sand bunkers that were filled with dirt and stones. some sand bunkers, however, were filled with new sand. carts were slow and in terrible condition. range balls were tired and bruised. for a "resort" course, more capital investment is needed to live up to its reputation.
Challenging Course
Course was in excellent condition, but very difficult course to play
Nice course
Hilly in spots so definitely recommend a golf cart!
Pace of Play So Slow
I live locally and sometimes just want to jump out with my son to play a quick 9 holes. Unfortunately, this is the only course around that I could do that. After yesterday, I just don't see myself playing here anymore. The value is just not there. $40 per person for 9 holes at 4:30 in the afternoon with aerated greens that took about 2.5 hours. Unbearable. There was a group of kids in there 20's in front of us that looked like they have never played, could not advance the ball at all. Driving through the bunkers and doing 180's around the greens. I would have tried to play through if not for a group of 6 in front of them. This has happened more than once and is just a complete waste of money. I suggest just paying more to play 18 at Turkey or Crystal and just leave after 9 holes. It just sucks to have to pay $55 to play 9 holes at twilight hours. That's $110 for me and my son. Golf is going in the wrong direction. It's making it really difficult to get kids into the game at these prices.
