About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Poor Service and slow play
Bag drop guy was rude and completely unhelpful....
One of the carts for our foursome had a GPS that didn't work at all; the other had one that worked for the first 5 holes then crapped out...
The group in front of us was a threesome to start and after 13 holes turned into a twosome. Even with them being a threesome and then a twosome, we waited on EVERY SINGLE TEE BOX except 18. On multiple tee boxes we were waiting with the group in front of use while the group behind us was rolling up to us. The round took just under 5 hours, on a MONDAY.
The course layout is gorgeous and fun and was in decent shape. Other than that, everything about the experience was bad.

Awesome day at Black Bear
Great course... great layout.. manicured fairways and greens... sand traps are like concrete, so avoid the sand... pace of play was great in our three some playing a 2pm start... finished 18 in 4 hrs exactly...got on a hot deal so price was under $50 w cart...

So play today and NO SAND,
Slow play with NO RANGER IN SIGHT. Shouldn’t happen at a course where folks are paying these prices.
And what is the deal with no sand in the traps on these courses? Charge me $5.00 extra and get some real sand - they are all like mud traps with rocks at this point.
