About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Cool, but tough course
Staff was really friendly, especially the starter who gave us a few tips before teeing off. I really liked the layout and overall scenic elements of the course. The ground was super saturated and felt like it had been raining for days, even though it was only drizzling for a few hours (for the first time since August.). My one gripe is that the bunkers were like playing on hard clay with loose gravel mixed in. They were so bad that I was afraid of damaging my clubs in a few spots. Otherwise we had a great time and hopefully the weather cooperates if/when we play again
Very interesting course to play
It has it's challenging holes with some moderate holes too. I think they should allow more time for their scheduled outings to end before reserving regular golfers. There was quite a large backup for the regular golfers to start their rounds.
Great 9 hole course
As a beginner golfer this course offers a good challenge due to the hilly terrain and fairways, but includes very friendly greens. Friendliest staff I have ever encountered.
Course is in amazing shape
I’ve played this course for a few years now, it’s in the best shape I have ever seen. It’s a challenging course but well worth the extra lost balls.
Great overall
Greens a little banged up but otherwise outstanding experience. Amazing open layout and some beautiful holes
The greens were aerated. However, more than a few large holes were not filled with sand, making it very difficult to put every time.
Overpriced
Overpriced relative to deteriorated conditions. Great layout that has gotten worse in the last 1-2 years. Bunkers were mostly poor with rocks. Tee boxes somewhat beat up. Fairways also in mediocre conditions. Greens generally were in OK condition.
Way overpriced for mediocre conditions especially on weekend. Unless you can find a discounted price NOT worth the price. Very disappointing for what used to be a must play course.
Not great value, good course usually.
Ton of other courses in the area for better value. I can’t get nuts about the aeration of the greens considering it’s the beginning of September but the traps weren’t maintained, the tee boxes needed a bit more love than the sand dump that they were. I don’t mind the slow play on a weekend, especially the holiday weekend but round took 5 hours. Waiting on every shot - with 3 rangers out. Not great management. Only saving grace was it was a beautiful day to be outside and the beverage carts were appropriately attentive.
Aerated Greens, No Warning!
Course needs some lovin! Greens were just punched and no warning on GolfNow when booked.
We stopped playing on the green the 3rd hole and left the course at the 13th hole.
Slowest round ever
6 hour round of golf is inexcusable. Understand it's a holiday but pace was horrible & no ranger in site. Multiple people/groups walked off early.
Wild Turkey
Greens in Fairway really hacked up many divots and ball marks not repaired
