About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Aerated Greens, No Warning!
Course needs some lovin! Greens were just punched and no warning on GolfNow when booked.
We stopped playing on the green the 3rd hole and left the course at the 13th hole.
Slowest round ever
6 hour round of golf is inexcusable. Understand it's a holiday but pace was horrible & no ranger in site. Multiple people/groups walked off early.
Wild Turkey
Greens in Fairway really hacked up many divots and ball marks not repaired
Horrible
A beautiful course I have played before . However the management team decided to aerated the course all greens and T boxes on the last week of the summer season in August . The sand traps mostly ran from underwater to hard pack to just plain gravel . I will not return .
Played course Thursday sand traps where unplayable full of rocks greens where just aerated so not great lots of pitch marks tee boxes rough and a little pricey for what’s offered don’t think I’m hurrying back anytime soon
Awful
I have only played Black Bear a couple times . We decided to treat ourselves,, this last week of summer (August ) and HOLIDAY week and make the ride to play Black Bear .The course recently punched holes in all the greens and T boxes ,,, all were aerated . I am not sure why that needed to be done , Now being the last week of peak season . The bunkers were in poor condition . Most were not playable . The conditions were .. water , very hard pack to what could only be described as gravel . The possibility of damaging a club . What a shame ! This WAS a beautiful play to play golf . I will not return .
Very solid
Only complaint is the quality of the bunkers (hard dirt and rocks vs. soft sand) and the tee boxes were really beat up. Otherwise, very well maintained course and nice facilities. Fun layout, would definitely play again
Air rated greens
Greens had just been air rated and the job was amateur. Holes not filled with sand and other parts loaded with sand. Greens are huge so they should have treated 1/2 of each green and let you play on the good part. Pace of play was slow.
First time playing Crystal Springs course.
The people at the course were very helpful and the Crystal Springs course was very challenging design, the only thing I wish was that there site didn't post that it had aerated the greens which made putting accuracy non-existent. I will play the course again when it's aeration is over and the greens are smooth.
Great shape and layout.
Iv played this course a few times a year for last 5 years. Course was in great shape. Only complaint i could say are the carts. Need to upgrade.
green is not green but sand
green aeration made green like beach.
should have noticed before booking. asked pro shop unfair. but reply was only fees discounted because of that. But discount means green is sand. No way. It is unplayable to putt. Even $20 not worth it. We paid more than 60 weekday.
Challenging
Crystal Springs is a challenging course. The uneven lies will test your skills and patience. There was an aeration notice, and they did discount our round. But the aeration is pretty bad, very sandy so I'd suggest giving it a little time to settle.
Does Wild Turkey ever rake ots bunkers
I understand that aeration had taken place; however, bunkers looked like they hadn't been raked in weeks. Hard surface with dried impressions from water streams. Maybe WT has an employment issue. Not a good excuse at those prices. Had always loved WT previously. Will not be back anytime soon.
Awesome course
5 star course very challenging and difficult
5:30 hrs round
When you paid close to a $100 a round, I expected the round to be finished within 4:30hrs. It is close to 5:15th round and it is completely unacceptable.. We have to wait at every shot for every hole. We will never go back. It is faster playing in a local town course with half the price and will definitely finish within 5 hrs top.
The Best Public Course in New Jersey!
The Par 3 11th is epic! The course is extremely challenging, and every round on a course like this makes you a better golfer! Great experience and looking forward to playing Crystal Springs again!
Tooo slow
We have no problem with waiting but no ranger visible to push pace.
Added an extra 45-60 mins for 9 holes.
Greens full of Divots and Rocks in the bunkers
The overall condition of your greens is unacceptable! The divots were to put it mildly, a major reason why our game was so far off yesterday. Our group repaired them constantly. Now for your rocks in the bunkers , no sand in them because there isn't any! No ranger to complain about the slow pace? We told the group in front of us that it's called ready golf! It was not a fun day for anyone in our group. This really is a beautiful course but sadly it needs a lot of loving care!!!!
