About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Crystal Springs GC
Whoa , this place is in great shape and should be played by everyone. Yes it’s hard and narrow with smaller greens but how else will you get better. The scenery is amazing, the par 3s amazing and I will be playing this course quite a few more times this year because price is reasonable.

6 hour round
Playing a 6 hour round on a Tuesday just feels wrong. Course was nice but for the price and lack of a ranger to keep the pace it’ll be a one and done visit for me.
Amazing course
High handicapper’s beware this course is very difficult but very rewarding. Amazing views and great course conditions. Only thing that sucked was the greens just being punched and rolling very slow.
The condition of the most recent place I played at is excellent.
Great course
Went down one star because the greens were just aerated, can’t fault them for that. Other than that the course was in fantastic shape. Wasn’t wet like every other course I’ve played this year.
Very good course
Overall rating is very very good. Hadn’t played there for several years. Challenging course layout but manageable.
Good conditions for April, with tee boxes, fairways and rough in great shape. Bunkers need work. Greens had aeration dimples and putts were bouncing, but that’s part of necessary maintenance. Friendly staff.
No Aeration Warning, Terrible Bunkers
Black Bear has a stellar layout and the potential to be something great. However, charging $130 to play on aerated greens with NO warning at all and having bunkers with rocks the size of softballs in them is highway robery. Our group was stuck behind two couples playing at 9:30 am on a Sunday, with only one of their foursome advancing the ball more than 20 yards at a time. They were 4-6 holes behind the group in front of them and the ranger did nothing to improve the pace of play or allow us to pass. I'll stick with Crystal Springs, Wild Turkey or Ballyowen in the comings weekends for a better experience.
Fabulous Layout
This is mostly a second shot golf course with ample room to position drives. excellent array of holes, all interesting and fun. Dramatic elevation changes in many cases. water strategically placed. outstanding green complexes and bunkering. Bring your iron game and short game. For us it was early season, but even so, hitting off the fairways was a dream. Very well maintained..
