About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Airification
Fairway was good but greens were terrible.
They punched hole and poured lots of sand on the green. I got to hit the golf ball for rolling into the hole cup.
Held 2 days of rain, tee to green great condition.
Nice Track
Excellent, friendly staff.
Seeing that the greens were aerated on 3/18, figured they would have been not 100%, but at least filled in. Bumpy greens led to a lot of missed putts, and extreme speed deviation among all holes.
Conditions of tees and fairways was exceptional for early season, and played true.
Bunkers need attention
This is my second time back at this course. Challenging but fun is the best way to describe it. Fairways were in great shape, the greens were rough but they had just been aerated so I won’t hold that against them. Last time I was there the greens were lightning fast. My only real gripe is the bunkers. They are borderline concrete and have rock all over the place in them. We were taking our balls out of them all day because they are literally unplayable. When you pay $90 for a tee time you expect playable bunkers and fast greens. It doesn’t need to be perfect but I can go to Great Gorge right down the road and play for $65 for a course that is in about the same shape.
Good course, poor conditions
It was a good course to play. Probably has better conditions in the summer. Awesome to get complementary range balls. Staff is great and friendly. Only bad side was the current conditions of the course. I get it, early in the season but charging full price for punched sanded greens and concrete bunkers should be a crime. Solid 3 star course!
Decent conditions for early march. Course drained well despite all the rain we’ve had. A challenging 9 hole layout.
Beautiful Course Made for Extreme Challenge
If you are looking for a course to challenge your golf abilities this is the one. Every fairway is narrow with no room for forgiveness. This course was managed wonderfully even including the fact that we had frost delay. Some of the tees need updating, but other than that greens were in Shape.
We played right after rain in March so the course was soaked. The tee times were stacked up and we waited 45 minutes at the 1st tee. It kind of opened up with only short wait times at a few holes.
Are they crazy ?
$150+ for a round in the winter ? This isn’t Augusta. Get real
Cascades
This is a very nice 9 hole course and is a part of Crystal Springs Resort. The course can be challenging for a new golfer. During the winter months there is not a lot of traffic and pace of play is very fast.
The staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Not worth the $
Course was in rough shape. Tee boxes were terrible, greens were very bouncy. For the money we paid there should have been some maintenance to the course before we played.
Absolutely Must Golf in Your Lifetime
This course is located in the wilderness of New Jersey cascaded by the mountains. For February this course was in better condition than courses are in the summer. Every player out there was really nice. It was an environment that placed people in a peaceful environment making a complete holistic experience.
