About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Decent conditions for early march. Course drained well despite all the rain we’ve had. A challenging 9 hole layout.
Beautiful Course Made for Extreme Challenge
If you are looking for a course to challenge your golf abilities this is the one. Every fairway is narrow with no room for forgiveness. This course was managed wonderfully even including the fact that we had frost delay. Some of the tees need updating, but other than that greens were in Shape.
We played right after rain in March so the course was soaked. The tee times were stacked up and we waited 45 minutes at the 1st tee. It kind of opened up with only short wait times at a few holes.
Are they crazy ?
$150+ for a round in the winter ? This isn’t Augusta. Get real
Cascades
This is a very nice 9 hole course and is a part of Crystal Springs Resort. The course can be challenging for a new golfer. During the winter months there is not a lot of traffic and pace of play is very fast.
The staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Not worth the $
Course was in rough shape. Tee boxes were terrible, greens were very bouncy. For the money we paid there should have been some maintenance to the course before we played.
Absolutely Must Golf in Your Lifetime
This course is located in the wilderness of New Jersey cascaded by the mountains. For February this course was in better condition than courses are in the summer. Every player out there was really nice. It was an environment that placed people in a peaceful environment making a complete holistic experience.
Cascades
Played in December. Previous rain had the course soaked but playable. Excellent drainage. Excellent staff. Only downfall is it’s a combo soccer golf course as well so there’s other hole layouts for that. It’s not as difficult as the other courses there so most people play the other 4 courses. So if you’re just looking to get out quicker, it’s great. They take very good care of ALL of their courses.
Great course
Awesome course with amazing views! The course is difficult, the course layout lends itself to more layup plays rather than going for distance. For sure recommend to anyone.
Expected from Crystal Springs
You know what you’re getting from Crystal Springs. Nice long fairways that are in incredible shape, fast greens, panoramic views of the Appalachian mountains and great service. The course is beginner friendly but also has some pretty challenging holes as well. This was my first time playing a round at Cascades and I will be back to play more of the Crystal Springs courses.
