Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Overall Good Course
The course us in good shape. The bunkers need some attention and the layout is a bit wierd at times.
Beautiful and extremely challenging
Truly beautiful course that lives up to its ranking as a top 50 most challenging course in the country.
Course was in excellent condition (aside from bunkers that were rather rocky) and the natural rocks populating the course are a sight to behold.
Every single fairway has extreme undulations that make a flat lie impossible and more than half the tees shots leave very little room for error. The greens were extremely difficult as well but rolled very true.
Always a solid learning course
Beautiful course for the beginner (but bring extra balls) as some fairways tight. Course was very dewey with a 7:20 tee time, but really in good condition. Never too crowded.
The resort owners need to completely redo the cart paths. They are tired and in disrepair. Additionally they should make the transitions into and off of the cart paths smoother. You have to cross roads many times as well as throughout the many private residential communities in the resort.
Very nice course, was wet so cart path only was not pleasant. Totally understand, but was hot & unpleasant. We will be back 100%
Very Tough Course
Very tough but excellent condition. More staff needed as a society had been in and it was chaos getting a cart. Also more drinks carts needed. Long round too 4hr 40mins with a cart so give yourself time
Starter - Needs a Service Attitude
Had an unpleasant reaction to my sim asking for a 2nd Score Card. It ruined the front nine for us. And, I left a message for the Mgmnt to call me - still waiting for a reply. The place is great - the experience was a letdown.
Nice course, super friendly staff
Played 4 different courses last weekend in the Crystal springs area and thought Black Bear was second best behind Ballyowen. I'll be honest, price is steep compared to courses that I pay about $80-$100 in the tri-state area with similar layouts and amenities. I will say that the rangers were seen often, but we had no issue with pace of play.
Challenging for Beginners
Really fun course, it was my first time playing a Crystal Springs course and I was not disappointed. It has a good mix of easy and challenging holes. Layout is good, the holes are really far apart though. This is a good course for someone new to the game like myself. I shot a 52(it’s a 9 hole course)
Awesome
The course was I great shape from tee to greens. Had a great experience. Will definitely play it again.
