About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Great round every time.
Black Bear is a great course. It is well maintained wirh friendly greens. The sand traps are beginning to be upgraded to be real sand, which improve the course to a top level.
Gorgeous and incredibly challenging
When people said this course was one of the most difficult in the nation, I didn't take it seriously. I should have. This is the hardest course I have ever played. Very narrow fairways, hilly rolling terrain, plenty of thick forest to eat your ball, and it felt like every other shot was blind. Great course, but very very hard.
Great Course
Beautiful course with many different hole layouts. Only issue was that bunkers were hard as a rock and didn’t even look playable on some holes. For the $ we spend playing this course, that should be fixed.
BEAR
One of the most beautiful public courses available. Except for some unkept sandtraps,s a perfect golf experience!
Starter was 1 hour behind.
Tee time was 12:40.. we didn’t get out until 1:45 due to an outing running behind. Then we were shotgunned out and no rangers to maintain pace of play
Always a treat
Good condition, considering the amount of rain we’ve had, and a fun and challenging layout, with each hole having a distinctive character.
Great course to play
I had great experience at this course and want to go back again but the traffic was so bad. It took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to get to that course.
Took a guest but not pleasant experience
Tee off at 8:11am. We were 2 sum sent to back 9 to start the round. I had to drive into middle of the golf course evading other player's golf balls.
Almost at every hole, ground workers blocked shots and will not move away to play through.
Tee boxes were in bad condition and Tee markers on the tee boxes were not properly positioned and had to assume distances on Par 3's.
It was not an enjoyable round. I will not go back anytime soon.
Course in nice shape- bunkers are pathetic for the $
The course overall is in the best shape I've ever seen it and have played a million times over the years. The greens get beat up due to lots of play but were OK. The bunkers are offensively bad for the money they are charging now. For $160+ its really unacceptable to have bunkers basically with gravel in them. They redid 1 &18 and the rest are awful. Seems like they are filling in a lot of them with grass but seems pretty silly for a course of this caliber and cost to not have bunkers, with sand?
Oh Crystal👍
If it’s your first time playing at any of the golf courses at Crystal Springs you’re in for a treat, but Crystal is a phenomenal course the crystal Springs front nine and the back nine classic is amazing. Wonderful challenge for all levels. Beginners might have a bit of trouble due to the undulation of greens and the fairways and lengthy carries.🍀
Stephen at the pro shop is absolutely amazing. The staff is phenomenal the girls in the carts just wonderful 🙏
conditions of the golf course were phenomenal greens are in wonderful shape running quick and true only issue. Bunkers were a little mush, but that’s understandable due to the severe amounts of rain that we’ve been experiencing up here in Sussex County area, no wet spots on the golf course at all. Thanks again very much look forward to playing the course once again thank you so much. Keep up the good work. 🇺🇸☘️🙏👍
