Inconsistent Turf Conditions, Cut the rough
I’ll keep it simple,
Great course but with all the leaves that are falling, cut the rough. It was bad enough that you could lose a ball that landed in play because of the leaves, but the rough was over 6” high in most spots. Add the leaves on top & it slowed the pace of play tremendously.
Wow !
New owners are making this place beautiful. The workers are some of the nicest people out there. Course was stunning for 69 bucks it’s the best deal on golf now
Beautiful Fall Golf
Golf course is in fine shape given the summer drought. They are working on getting the bar and food service back up and running after being closed for a year. A great course to play!
Beautiful place
Beside the understandably slow pace of play on a Saturday everything else was exceptional.
Coming back to life
After a few years of this course being closed they reopened this year and as expected it was in rough shape.. in only a few months time the crew has turned it around and everything is growing and green again. Bunkers are cleaned out with new sand. Greens are looking healthy and rolling. Fairways are back. Even the outside snack bar is back..
Golf review
Course was very wet do due to heavy rain proceeding 48hrs! Cart path only (understandable) but a lot of walking.
Course was in great shape!
One of the better public courses in South Jersey
The re-introduction of Sea Oaks as LBI National is a welcome one. The undulating fairways and excellent bunkering leads to a very accessible difficult course along the coastal track of otherwise resort style golf in South Jersey. The course isn't particularly tight despite the parkland layout confined by the development around it. The designers did a masterful job keeping the course well defined without ever really introducing you to the homes around the layout. The fairways were beautiful, bunkers were excellent, tee boxes pristine, and the greens were generally very good. MUST visit, will be going again soon, and often.
Garbage experience
Do not waste your time or money. The course conditions were absolutely horrible for having to pay $100 to play. Every bunker was like clay and mud. So much so that it couldn’t even be raked. The patches of diseased grass taking over the fairway and greens don’t even look like they’re trying to be fixed. Divots, damaged greens, poor hole placement. (Probably should’ve had a frost delay!!) The starter stalked us around the course (group of 4) and around the 15th hole started telling us we need to go faster bc the course has no carts left…sorry but for $100 that’s not my problem. We finished in 4 hours and 25 minutes as a foursome for context. The staff was rude as soon as we pulled in. Find a better course for your money. This course was maybe a $45-$60 value
Getting there
Course conditions are getting better, just not yet where it was 5 years ago. Good job tho getting past summer drought and period of neglect. Spring should be fantastic.
Happy Return
So happy that Sea Oaks has been purchased and is now operating as LBI National. A great course, challenging but fair, and when renovations are completed on the restaurant it will be beautiful!
Lbi Natioay
The course, is coming along, i played it 3 weeks ago, and i see the improvements over this time,
friendly staff.
Garbage
Stay away from this course right now. They are full of excuses of why they have no amenities and why the condition is bad. Apparently the course had been closed and recently opened again. They haven't even changed the signage yet. The fairways and greens are garbage. There is no food or adult drinks available. The price they are charging right now is ridiculous. The staff was friendly and the layout was decent, so there is a possibility that the course will be good, but right now I'd stay away. If you do choose to play here, bring your own food and drinks and be prepared to wait a lot.
