LBI National
THE COURSE WAS WET FROM EARLY MORNING HEAVY RAIN SO CART PATH ONLY. I PLAYED ALONE AND PLAYED 2 BALLS OFTEN. WHEN I GOT TO THE 10TH TEE THERE WAS A FOURSOME IN THE FAIRWAY AND ONE ON THE GREEN, SO I CALLED IT QUITS. SOME OF THE GREENS HAD SOME VERY STRESSED OUT/BURNED OUT AREAS. I PLAYED THE BLUE TEES BECAUSE THE WHTE TEES HAD TOO MANY DIVOTS. THERE IS DRIVING RANGE WITH REAL GOOD QUALITY BALLS AND A PUTTING GREEN THAT IS NEAR THE FIRST TEE.
Still needs work after the sale/ reopening/name change
Played this course when it was Sea Oaks. The course was in much better shape then. The layout is nice but course conditions left much to be desired. Large puddles on at least two greens. Bunkers with stones the size of quarters in them. Fairways not maintained well. This course needs work and should not be charging the rate they’re charging until it is in better condition. Much better course options in South Jersey for the price
Same as sea oaks
Nee owners putting in alot of money to make it better. Keep it up
Challenging Greens
Super friendly staff! Course was in good condition!. The greens are large but not flat! Fun challenging course !!
Great potential
Played here as a single, I was paired up with a great group of guys. I played here while it was Sea Oaks so I know the potential. The course was dormant for over two years and you can see it. The staff is doing everything to bring it back to a top teared course close to those vacationing in LBI. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were still closed. Make sure you bring your coffee and bacon egg and cheese and your six pack for the back nine.
Can’t wait to come back next year.
Excellent layout and value
Played it for the second time today since they reopened a couple of months ago. The first time we played it was only a day or two after they reopened, and the conditions were understandably a little rough around the edges with the courts have been closed for three years. Today was a much different story. They’ve done a terrific Job in getting the course in really good shape, especially considering the limited time they’ve had to work with in the brutal weather conditions this summer. The greens especially we’re rolling fast and true. Hats off to the superintendent and his staff for a job well done. The layout is outstanding, and the course conditions have improved dramatically. I highly recommend it.
LBI National Golf
Played for the first time on a Sunday morning. It was immediately apparent how bad the conditions were for a course charging 100/ golfer. It felt like an abandoned resort with weeds, unkept tee boxes, and huge areas of burnout in most fairways. The course played soggy wet, despite no rain the previous days, and several holes had giant mud tracks due to cart traffic. The greens had large spots of burnout that looked spraypainted green and were very inconsistent. I understand the property recently changed hands, but don't believe a name change warrants the fees. Hopefully they close it and renovate as the course design has potential.
Course needs work
Played this course when it was called Sea Oaks and it was a decent course. It was closed (pending sale) for 27 months but was allegedly maintained. Found the course to be severely lacking for the price charged (89). Many bunkers had lots of large stones in them, not even sandy. Tee boxes had weeds, puddles on at least two greens, burnt out areas surrounding several greens. This course needs work and should reduce their prices until the course is in better shape. Much better alternatives in South Jersey at this time. Played on a Thursday, not even a weekend so the price was ridiculous. Wish I’d taken photos
First time back since reopened. Was a great course before it closed and after it has more time to come back, it will be great again. Enjoyable to play right now, next year it’ll be top notch. Fun layout and design. Happy it’s back in play!
the course is coming back
The old sea oaks now LBI National is a good track just still going thru some of the battle scars from being closed for a few years. Course has some spots that need work, but the greens were good for being closed and course looks like it will come back strong.
Do you have a lighter?
The course is nearly unplayable. We had to walk off on the tenth hole because the course conditions were so bad, had to wait on every shot, no food or alcohol at the course and we just couldn't take any more of this pain. We had to give auto two putts on half the greens because you couldn't actually putt. They had rangers driving around and it was almost creepy. I can't remember the last time a ranger creeped up on me every other hole. We were waiting on every shot and pacing for a 6 hour round, what were they even doing out there? You are better off saving your hundred dollar bill, waiting for a cold night and lighting it on fire to keep warm.
