Great course, needs a bit of TLC
In my top 5 courses in NJ, but maintenance has gone backward a touch last two seasons. Greens and tee boxes well kept but rough needs a cut as well as sprouts at tree bases. Other than that, great layout and lots of fun.
Place to play
Everything about this place is excellent. Start with great service from the bad boys, to friendly help in the Pro shop. The course is in great shape and the place is very well take conditioned. Front 9 is easier than back 9. Make your score on the front, the back is 2-3 strokes harder. The Director of Golf is a perfect gentlemen and it runs thru his whole staff. The Grill room is nicely done with great vies of the 18. Try to get a set by the windows. 16 th. hole my favorite. Food an service in Grill room excellent. Top notch place.
excellent course some challenges
would give this a 4.5 rating terrific course wish they offered some better pricing options for seniors earlier in morning
Nice course very playable greens are very challenging
Nice layout
Very nice layout, enormous greens, it was wet due to the weather but course in decent shape for March 1st. Well worth playing, friendly staff.
Great course with excellent staff
To be playing golf in NJ on February 11th it was amazing. The temperature was 55 degrees and the tee boxes, fairways and greens were excellent for this time of year or any other time of year for that matter as well as the sand traps. I got on for $39 with a cart and lunch(which was a great selection of8 choices from chicken fingers, burger, frankfurter, Ceasar Salad, wraps or Calamari with a drink)
The staff starting from the pro shop which has a great selection of items and the staff were courteous and knowledgeable and helpful. The starter kept everyone moving and the pace was good for 4 players(2 walkers) we were done in 4hrs 10minutes.
I understand that this course is about $85-$100 to play in the season and I would definitelt come back again and again and looking forward to playing here again next Saturday & Sunday and it's an 75 minute drive for me and I do not mind taking that drive at all to get here.
Great day at the course.
I had to take a 1.5 hr drive to find a course without snow. Sea Oaks didn't disappoint. Arrived an hour early and had a Bloody Mary in the bar. The daytime bartender was pleasant and accommodating. The starter and golf attendant/pro were as well. We played at a decent pace and ended up having dinner at the very busy bar. Everybody was quite pleased with their choices. A great day at the course.
Wide open fairways
Great staff except for bartender.Wide open fairways.Good conditions for November golf.Great pace of play
Sunday Round
Course is always a pleasure to play especially when the rates are off-season.
Under staffed
Nice course in good shape. Teed off half hour after reserved time. Starter slid another foursome in front of us at last minute. No on course ranger. waited on EVERY SHOT.
Great Bargain at the Shore
Rounds down the shore can be expensive, but Sea Oaks has a great deal in the afternoons (paid $48 for 18 with a cart at 2:00). Only negative part of the day was a very slow group in front of us that made us wait. Course was in great shape and fun as always to play.
Aaa just ok
I usually play here in the winter months and was expecting great conditions. Well unfortunately it was almost winter
Like conditions. Fairways were spotty and greens had some issues. Great layout, people and clubhouse just hope for better conditions in early fall.
Sea Oaks
The course is in excellent shape. Greens are very difficult due to extreme undulations . My only complaint is that I seem to always be left "In Between" club selection. Thats a personal thing though.
Punta Winny
Great hot deal to play a very nice course. The course was well maintained and in real good shape coming out of summer. Maybe even too much watering. Very busy for late afternoon, probably because it's a great place to play. Can't afford 79 but golf now made it affordable!
great layout in poor shape
Course is nicely laid out, however skip it for now, the course is in horrible shape.
Good Course (if you have a Hot Deal)
The course layout was great. Lots of fairway bunkers that you need to avoid. Greens were very large. Some puts over 100 ft. Green conditions were a bit bumpy and burned out in spots. Fairways also burned out in spots and casual water from over sprinkling.
Worst part were the black flies. Lots of bites and Deep Woods Off didn't deter them.
I'll play again with a deal but wouldn't pay full price.
Great place to play as long as you get a good deal on golf now
Nice practice area, didn't eat there but looked like a great setup. Got a great deal on golf now paid 39 for the round regular price was 107.00
Needs improvment
For a course that caused almost $100 the conditions were horrible. I have played this course in the past and it was an excellent. A few of the greens were burnt and the fairways Were torn up like I've never seen before. Plus a 5 hour round not acceptable.
Sea Oaks Country Club is in poor condition
I played at Sea Oaks on 8/22/16 and the staff is very nice. However the course is overall fair because it is wide on a variety of holes and is built on the natural landscape of the land. The course has a ton of sand bunkers and has a lot of natural areas on the course that are unmaitained. Overall I liked the layout its self beginning on a Par 5 and ending on a tough Par 4. What I don't like about the Course is that it is in very poor shape. The fairways are clobbered with divots and are extremely wet. The greens are large and very slow. The course also contains a number of burn outs on the greens and on the fairways p and is just overall in poor shape. This is a shame because this course has the potential to be very beautiful and challenging but is just not taken care of. I have to laugh they call this a country club meanwhile the public courses I usually play on are much nicer and better maintained. Sea Oaks better get their act together because the course is not worth playing for what they charge. Overall the clubhouse amenities are very good at Sea Oaks and the club has a nice pro shop. Besides that the course can use some work
Conditions
Poor shape, crab grass on tees, greens had fungus and fairways were beat up.
Great people work there. Course is fun to play. 16 hole is a treat. Course is usually in very good shape. One problem you may run into from time to time, is the pace of play. In the summer it can tale 5-5.5 hours. All things considered I give it 4.5 stars. Play it , you'll like it.
