Mountain Creek Resort
About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Great price
Fast greens challenging blind shots from elevated tees course a must play
Recommend playing
Looking forward to going back and play this again
It’s been awhile…
I haven’t played Great Gorge in over 10 years. Played Rail/Quarry today and a lot has changed. First, the fairways and weren’t uniformly in great shape. Tee boxes and greens were in pretty good shape. Second, they removed the gps system from the golf carts. Not knocking the course, but I remember it being pristine back in the day.. It was def worth the $46 hot deal though.
Views are amazing and greens can be tricky if you’re not paying attention. Can be challenging enough for low handicappers and enjoyable for high handicappers depending on what set of tees you hit from.
All in all, we’ll worth the fee, but def wouldn’t travel from Staten Island again. It’s not the course I remember.
Unfriendly female staff
This course is designed to be quite difficult and many challenges await. However, the unkindness of the staff rather than the course made it quite unpleasant during the game, and I vowed not to come back to this golf course again because of the steps.

In pretty good shape
In pretty good shape we played Lake in rail as the other day . Lake was a little beat up but it was ok Rail was excellent the greens are pretty hard to read , some of the sand traps had rocks in them other where very good tee boxes OK definitely play if you play it for about 50 bucks
Lake 9 Needs Work
We played the Lake/Rail. Was disappointed in the Lake 9. Some pretty rough fairways that really need some attention.
They should consider shutting down Lake for the season and getting it back into playing shape.
Railside was nice with its great signature hole.
