A nice course for the #3 at TS
The original track(although rerouted) is a very, very good golf course. Always in great condition, generous fairways but treacherous greens.
Many well framed holes with well positioned bunkers.
Only gripe is that it is so close to a highway, some holes on front side are loud.
My favorite of the 3 at Turning Stone
The three golf courses at Turning Stone are all excellent.
None are easy, but Kaluhyat is the toughest.
Loved Shenandoah and Atunyote is a treat.
But K is King. A beautiful 18 holes, each requiring precise shot making-not many layouts this demanding. Add +5 if wind is blowing.
Not for hobbyists.
Excellent Experience
Played this course on 8/22/2020. It's always a treat to play Kaluhyat. The course is intimidating to look at but is often receptive to most incoming shots. It's visually pleasing while remaining difficult yet playable. Conditions are always great. The fairways were short, greens rolled fast and true (noticeably quicker than your typical public track, but not quit country club fast) and it was maintained well. The rough is as healthy as i've ever seen. Evenly cut throughout the entire course. Thick enough to make you hit a high cut into the green, but not as thick to where you need to hack out. The sand was average at best. It's not the fluffiest.
The clubhouse and the whole experience is great. The practice facility is as good as anywhere else, AND for a mere $100 more, we could have played Atunyote at the replay rate. Tremendous value.
Fun Course outside Syracuse
The Turning Stone Casino Resort has three courses, with a Shenandoah being the friendliest. The fairway landing zones tend to be generous but most greens are oriented so approach shots are coming into a narrow green. There is a narrow, first cut collar then thicker, lush rough around the green. Greens were receptive and not particularly fast. Very fun track.
A must play for the golf enthusiast
Decided to try turning stone for our annual buddies golf trip this year since we are from NY and travel is limited outside of the state. It is safe to say we will be returning to Turning Stone every year going forward. We played all three courses which were all excellent, but Atunyote stood out far from the pack. This course is everything you want in a golf course, perfectly manicured, aesthetically beautiful, fun layout, and good pace of play. We felt like we had the course to ourselves even though there were other groups out there. Our group has people with a wide variety of skill levels (single digit handicap - 20+) and this course pleased everyone. Yes it is not cheap, but if you truly appreciate golf it will be worth every penny. I can't wait to come back.
Great place to practice.
Great conditions like all the courses at the casino, but a par three course you can play with a cart really fast and practice. Lots of sand, good variation in distances. For $20 its great.
Fantastic shape and layout
Went out as a twosome. Staff were great from start to finish. Best carts in the business Felt like sitting in a Cadillac 2 iced down water bottles were provided. Mid 90 temp. Made quick work of them. Cart ladies were frequently found for more
Fairways were the best around soft and manicured
Greens were fast but very true and receptive.
The land and views were beautiful. Stopped to take a few pictures.
Clubhouse was fully stocked with the latest items and had a shirt sale.
3.5 hour round. Will play again
Most fun out of the three high end courses on property
Shenendoah is just a fun challenge. Not as hard as Kaluyhat, a little more open and you can use the driver more. Excellent condtitions as always. Courteous staff, seemed like they were doing all the covid precautions seriously. Certianly worth playing a few times a year as a treat.
Just Play Here Once, It's Worth The Money
Yes, its expensive for a course in upstate NY, but where else can you play where the PGA has played? Its worth it! Conditions were excellent, the course is fun to play, not super hard like you might think. It will be a one time a year thing for me from now on.
Good course
Beautiful course good for average and not so good players it is very fun
Worth every penny
Kaluhyat is probably the most challenging course of the three offered at turning stone. You really can’t go wrong with any of the three major courses offered. Kaluhyat offers challenges off most tee boxes and also with your approach shots. Amazing conditions throughout the round with greens that are rolled daily, fast but very fair! If you are thinking about visiting turning stone then golf is a must!
Turning Stone
This course was the friendliest of all the courses st Turning Stone. I would recommend playing this course first while visiting Turning Stone.
Turning Stone
This golf course was more challenging then the others at Turning Stone.. so beautiful with excellent course conditions. The greens were running fast that day!
Turning Stone
I enjoyed playing this golf course. Beautiful fairways and greens. The flowers/plantings were spectacular!.
Great day on the golf course!
Turning Stone Original
This course use to be in the top 100 you can play from Golf Digest, it has since dropped out. This year I have played a few of the 2019 top 100 (besides TS), and the Shenandoah course lapped them, smoked them, left them in the dust !!!!. Remarkably well kept and the new seven holes of the redesign melted right in to the Rick Smith design. True championship greens running at 10.5 and fairways you could eat off.
This course is more playable then Kaluhyat and Atunyote but by no means a push over. Sloped at 145 from the tips and 135 from the whites, it will keep you busy.
Finally you always get the Turning Stone experience. Fine food, great staff, and beyond first class golf. You can not go wrong at Shenandoah, in fact it can't be much more right.
