Great course
The west course is a bit more challenging than the east course. The greens were nice and rolled nicely. Small greens than the east course. Had a great round, I will be back.
Clever Design
We liked the course. Plenty of clever obstacles without being obnoxious. Long course. Hilly. We had a great time though not scratch golfers.
Short and Sweet
Short course in great shape. Large bermuda greens in great shape. Fairways and tee boxes nice. Good layout of course but again SHORT. Will definitely play again sometime but the price and the drive is the deterrent from going back, Lots of fun.
Great escape
Enjoyed the hospitality from before the first tee to the 19th hole. Great staff.
Great course
Challenging course, undulating greens and good pace of play.
West course, grandover
Overall an excellent establishment. Course was in ok shape. Tee boxes were a little rough. Really only complaint was the lack of on course refreshments. Hottest day of the year yet, service bar at the turn was closed, no water on the course and one cart girl that we saw early in the round and again at the end. Understand that people willing to work are hard to come by, but if you want money from folks willing to spend it your gonna have to figure away to work it out
Grandover
Excellent course, very nice staff. The only negative was the 1/2 way house was closed and we did not see the cart person after the 4th hole. It was very hot and we were hungry and thirsty.
Solid All Around
Hadn’t played Grandover, a 13 hcp’er, Course and Greens in great shape, from blue I figured course would be more difficult but worth the money for sure. Might circle back around to West course in a month or two.
Great Course
The course was in good shape and well maintained. All employees were super nice and helpful. Only complaint was I didn't see a cart person with drinks/snacks the entire day. Which I thought was odd, but maybe they don't offer that. Very challenging course...definitely not for beginners or high handicappers.
great course and suitable for all handicaps, just a hiccup
first time playing at Grandover. Very nice and well maintained course with wide fairways. fairways and greens were in great shape. greens a little slow. They give you free logo towels, tees and ball repair tool.
I was paired with another gentleman for a 9:30 AM tee time and surprisingly course was not busy. we breezed through front nine in 90 minutes.
My playing partner was bombing his drives over 300 yards and hitting his 8 irons 185. so after the round I went to the range to see if i could replicate same only to be approached by two employees asking if I had paid to play and use the driving range.( the range balls are free for paid playing persons I was not the only one the range but obviously the only black person on the range. To their credit they left as soon as my playing partner explained to them we paid and have finished our round. It left a bitter taste on what should have been an enjoyable round of golf. Staff should recognize that people do not just come on the range and hit balls for free and should be more sensitive towards others especially minorities and first time guests like me paying $88.00 for a round
Saturday morning fun
Course was in good condition. It was cart path only but still fun. I will play it again soon. Little pricey but worth it.
Nice layout, courteous staff, but brutal pace, hairy greens, & no water
Course is very fair with little trouble off of most tee boxes with bailouts when there is trouble. The layout is great, but the greens hadn’t been mowed or rolled in a while (bent grass) which meant they rolled really slow.
Pace of play was incredibly slow. Without a ranger to help speed things up, it took over 4.5 hours to finish our round. They’re short staffed like everyone else in the world, so it’s understandable. Waited on every tee box for the foursome in front of us.
Halfway house was closed and there are no coolers or beverage carts on the course. Hope you brought some water. The water fountain at the halfway house was broken.
I wouldn’t give this course a nickel more than what I paid given all of the shortcomings. It’s a shame because the people who work here are really nice and courteous.
