Best course ever
Definitely worth the money! Fourth time I played this course and it gets better every time. Best views in the Smokey’s are found on this MUST visit course!
Great Views Great Play
Course was well maintained. Would definitely recommend this course.
Very difficult course to play the first time
The course was in decent shape for the time of year. It is a very picturesque course lots of beautiful views. Most holes are very hilly with slanted fairways or narrow fairways. Playing this course for the first time did not know where to play my shots, lost lots of balls. I got a great deal through golfnow, I would not pay full price to play this course. The person who checked us in could have been a little friendlier. He wasn't rude just when you are dealing with the public and I told him it was our first time golfing he could have put an effort out to make us feel welcome.
Great views
Incredible cart path elevation changes, making for amazing mountain views although the course itself is relatively flat. Severe doglegs make for difficult sight lines if you’ve not played there before. Several greens are too severe, easy to putt off the green. General condition was very good for early in the season.
Course was Overbooked
They over book the course terribly, we were being pushed and held up all round. Greens had divots, fairways full of pitch marks, bunkers unattended. I expected a lot more as far as golf, but the views were great. No amenities were offered. Our group had fun but I expected a better atmosphere and course.
Altitude
Very scenic. While the cart paths are incredibly steep the actual course is relatively flat except for several spectacular elevation changes. Early in the season but the course was generally in very good condition. Staff was great.
Great course, horrible pace of play
Love the course and the layout, great amenities. But the pace of play was horrible, we had a 2:10pm tee off and didn't tee off until 2:40. Over 5 hours to finish, almost didnt get all 18 in.
Disappointed the greens had been aerated but still charged full price
Must play in western NC
Carved thru unspoiled Carolina mountains. Beautiful views and dramatic elevation changes. Greens have deep undulations and mediocre shots are punished. Challenging course that require accuracy off the tee and into the greens. Well maintained. A must play in western NC.
Beautiful course a few disappointments
Beautiful course, stunning views, fairways and teeboxes in great shape.
A few drawbacks were the 40 minute delay at teeoff (14:10 tee time), a very slow round 5 hours 30 minutes and greens that had been aerated that weren't mentioned online or on site when checking in.
Love the course but today's experience was not up to the standard of past visits
Disappointment that we were not told the greens were aeriated and no deduction in greenfee apart from that it was another fine day out on the course -
