Good track, I have seen it in better condition
One of the Sandhills better courses, but not as well maintained as I have seen it in times past. Thin grass on many of the approach areas and wet to boot. Greens were slower than normal, but that is understandable after Spring-like conditions for much of the winter with freezing night time temperatures forecast for the next week. Outside Staff and Starter were very friendly.
Great Course!
I have been going to the Pinehurst area with a golf group for about 8 years now. I had not heard anything about this course. Its a gem! Very visually challenging, but also very forgiving. Course was in great shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This course has jumped up to my favorite in the area..
Awesome course. Greens are very nice and roll true.
Great layout, friendly staff short drive from Pinehurst....
First time playing here in maybe 15 years or so. Caught great weather for January, although windy, and had a great time with great rate for quality of this course. Conditions for mid-winter were very good, greens in near perfect condition and all bunkers were raked. Fairways and tee boxes all good. As another reviewer noted, and I remembered from long ago, there are four of the most beautiful par 3's you'll find anywhere. Very few houses on this property also so it's really a beautiful trip around. 15 minute drive or so from Pinehurst traffic circle so it's really not far. Will definitely return. One of the top courses in the area without a doubt and must have if you're putting a package together.
Best deal in town
Excellent course. Got tons or rain two days prior to our round and I thought course would be cart path only. Only 5 holes were cart path. Great staff. Unreal price for quality of the course. Par 3s are really sweet. Probably the best course in Pinehurst area for the price.
Simply a pleasure to play.
Great layout tough greens. Classic Pinehurst atmosphere.
Disappointing Day/Great Course
Legacy Links is a great course with a challenging layout. Really good course conditions. The fairways are a little shaggy in some areas. Here's why I gave the course a low overall rating: I took a client out to Legacy to play because he works near by. The course was overbooked and they were sending players off both tees late in the day. The starter sent my group off on the 10th tee right in front of a group making the turn (they were "members"- it's a semi-private club). A person in my group hit two balls off the first tee. The members, older guys (70+) from the Northeast, proceeded to use vulgarity and insult us. Bad idea, we let it go. Never in my life have I had this happen to me at the start of a round. I've been a member of Atlanta National in Georgia, a course a whole heck of a lot more exclusive than Legacy, and we would NEVER treat a guest like that. The head pro apologized on behalf of the club and actually played 9 holes with us. Great guy. It's a shame these guys ruined my customer's day.
Good choice
Good choice if using golf now deal price. Very playable, lnteresting and enjoyable. Good condition after severe rain which left other Pinehurst courses in terrible condition. Only three holes were cart path only due to rain. Check out the nice deals in the pro shop too. It is mid October and we finished easily before dark with 2:00 discount tee time.
Definitely will return
The course is in great shape, especial the greens. They are fast but run true. Second time playing the course in a month
Still the best!
Played yesterday on a whim. Called at 1000 and was able to tee off at 1130. The pro shop staff was excellent as always. I was paired with 3 members and I had the best time with them. Bill the starter was a real treat to chat with while hitting putts before the first tee. Bill went above and beyond by ordering me some food at the turn so I could just pick it up and pay. No waiting and delaying play at the turn. Despite the heat here lately the course was in excellent shape. The greens rolled true on the putts and held on shots from the fairways. Still the best value and course in the Sand Hills area. Keep up the great work Legacy staff!
Outstanding Experience
Not one bad thing to say about this facility, from the bag drop guy to finishing up on 18, it was a great day of golf at Legacy. The course is in great condition and has one of the best set of par threes I've played. Very interesting layout but be wary of the greens, they are FAST!! I haven't played every course in Pinehurst, but I've played most of them and this one is one I could play all the time. The finishing hole is one of the best!
Legacy- One of the best in Pinehurst area! Dont miss out. better than most at the resort.
Do not be afraid to try this place out. It is very well maintained. Fairways were lush and greens were in excellent shape for this time of year. Greens rolled very well. The folks here make sure you are having a good round and they care about you. The guy in the pro shop (Bob) was excellent and very friendly. They have great prices on attire and shoes if you need them. $39 Under armor and addidas climacools polos. Cant do much better than that. I will be back soon.
Good shape for summer
Played in a cga event. I usually play the tips but because I am a hack I played from the whites and it was still a mental challenge. Pinehurst is ultimately a flat area with pine trees but Nicholas did an excellent job with this design. Well worth the money.
On your way in or on your way out!
This course is a must play on your next adventure to the Sandhills. Great elevation changes, challenging green complexes, and all you want from any tee box.
The par threes keep your attention while the par fives just invite you to take a chance.
The staff is great, friendly and helpful.
Spend a minute in the back deck or putting green for a great view of the course.

Best Back Nine You Could a Ask For
Likely one of the best back nine set of holes I've ever played. For only $69 with a cart during peak time after 2 it was great. We ended up playing at 1. Cannot believe this course is not more crowded. 7&8 only two quirky holes on the course. 18 one of the best finishing holes in all of pinehurst. I'd highly recommend. This course and the people are very nice and southern as one would expect. I want to add the collection of par threes over the water are phenomenal and the best set I've seen. Wish this place had more TLC to the conditions because it would be better than many of the overpriced courses in the area, including Dormie which charges $215.
My favorite course in the Sandhills area
I have played here a handful of times every year for about 8 years now and the course/staff never disappoint. The layout is player friendly and fair. Multiple tee options to choose from for the longer hitters. This is by far one of the better values in the area. I drive over an hour to play here so if you are within that bubble it should be a must play. I make sure to bring my family and friends that visit from out of town because it is such a good course overall. If you are planning a golf trip to the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area put this on your list to play. It will be worth it.
A nice surprise.
We didn't expect much from Legacy, since we've been to Pinehurst to play some of the top dogs (Pinehurst #8, Dormie Club and Tobacco Road) but we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this course. What's really standing out is the great collection of par 3s which all vary in length and difficulty. Water comes in play regularly and the course present a lot of elevation changes. Greens were in good condition and the rate after 2 PM was neat.
Really nice greens
The front nine was in fantastic shape. The back nine was being slit-seeded so difficult to assess. Greens were really smooth & rolling nicely. Would definitely play there again.
Course very well designed by Jack - Go figure!! Awesome
Very little if any housing through the rolling hills of Aberdeen/Pinehurst. Very nice course. Larry in the pro shop was great. He made us feel welcomed and gave us the grand speech about the course and it's challenges. It's your choice from a variety of tee boxes - you need to really be honest with your game here. Greens were very nice - fast and true. Go play Legacy period! Nothing more to say here! Thanks Larry.
Hidden Gem
This is the first round for me at The Legacy. I was impressed at the cleanliness and staff. Patrons were very outgoing with smiles.
I have yet to play any course in the past three years that meets the GREEN Quality on this course. I will be back and bring friends with me.
Awesome experience
