Good layout... Course was not in good shape.
Dad, Grandfather and sons trip to North Carolina was basically ruined by a bad day at this course. The weather was cold and it was windy, but that wasn't the worst part. We got to hole 12 and had to go in because we were already at 3 hours and 35 minutes with 7 holes to play. We had to begin our drive back to Ohio. We won't be back.
Legacy
Nicest course in pinehurst for the money. Greens rolled true.
AMAZING COURSE LAYOUT WITH SOME DIFFICULTY AND GREAT CONDITIONS!
This course is amazing to play and is harder than your average golf course. The greens are flawless, although speedy, fun to play and this stays very consistent throughout all 18 holes. Whether you're a beginner or advanced player, it's fun to play (plus some good picture spots in the back nine). The fairways and teeboxes are pretty good although some tiny bare spots and dead grass. Personally, I would say that it could use some improvement because of bare spots and stuff but also in certain areas it is a bit difficult to chip and is easy to dig since the soil is like sand and stuff. Lots of water, great staff, and that's probably about it. Yeah. So great course layout and conditions though fairways could use some work. BTW balls were pretty expensive (not range balls)
Legacy too slow pace
Front nine played in two hours but back took 3:30 to play. No ranger to be found on course and round took 5:30 to play
Fave
One of my favorites. This is on my rotation. Worth the drive from Cary.
Enjoyable Course
We really enjoyed our round at Legacy Golf Links. The greens were in great shape and wicked fast when we played. The pace was great with absolutely no waiting throughout our round. Will definitely play again!
Great conditions and awesome pace of play
I had just finished playing Pinehurst #2 and Pine Needles so this felt like a reprieve of sorts from the turtle back greens yet still challenging. Greens in great shape as was course overall. Can’t beat the price. The pace of play was outstanding this day 4 hrs 15 minutes
Slow Day in Southern Pines
Greens in good shape. Fairways and tees good for the most part , although some areas were poor. Considering mid February, not bad. We have played Legacy 5-6 times over the last few years and generally the pace is slow but not pedestrian. They have a tendency to try and put too many players on the course and while there is a ranger he isn’t usually much help. This round ranked in the top 1 or 2 slowest rounds I have ever played ,at just over 5 hours. Not to mention we started 25 minutes after our scheduled tee time. No excuse for 5 hour round here, but seems to be more frequent if you look at other reviews. I guess they won’t get the message until people stop playing there.
Nice time but
Golf now stated by email total cost to pay at course $34. However legacy computer stated cost was $39. And that is what we paid. Still a good deal but wish golf now and courses could get on same page as to cost
Beautiful Course
One of my favorites. The course itself is terrific but the pace of play was slow. Too many poor golfers and walkers.
Excellent course
Challenging and and beautiful course .
