About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

Needs a repeat performance
Course was in excellent shape for winter conditions! Lots of bunkers, a la RTJ, and a fun round. A few “wonky” holes but all in all a great course! We’ll be back!
President's day
Course was in good shape. Areas of play cleared and dried.
Great day on Reynolds
Good Layout, Poor Conditions
For starters this is an excellent Robert Trent Jones layout, having played the Championship course and considering it one of the bast anywhere around I expected a little less out of the Reynolds course but as far as the layout is concerned the Reynolds is excellent. There is a nice variety of holes, with the front being a more traditional parkland and the back resembling a mountain course but both are quite fun. That being said the course has not been as well maintained as the Championship course. While the fairways were technically overseeded it was pretty sparse but my biggest critique conditions-wise was the greens. They look great, but they are the slowest greens I have ever played on in my life, and I am used to bent grass greens which many times can be slower but these were worse than anything I have ever putted on. Slow greens can really affect the enjoyability of a round as I knew the chances of making a putt of any distance were pretty slim and was often happy just to get it close. This issue is compounded by the fact that the practice putting green was redone last year when the greens on the Championship course were reseeded with Champion Bermuda (which is the best putting surface there is) so what you warm up on is great but in no way resembles what you will play on.
However the biggest issue I had was the pace of play which was even slower than the greens. I played as a single on a Sunday afternoon when the course really wasn't that busy. On the front I was a allowed through a group which was great but then ran into a much slower single who never let me though but did stop after nine. On the back however, I was behind a twosome that never even considered letting me through even though they were pretty terrible and very slow. I would say I waited a considerable amount of time on 90% of my shots and 100% on the back.
All that being said, the layout is probably worth one play if you can get a good deal and the greens are puttable, but otherwise just spend the extra money and play the championship course which is five star excellent.
CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE
THE RENOVATION ON TANGLEWOODS CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE HAS RETURNED IT TO "CHAMPIONSHIP" FORM. WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS. CHOOSE TEES WISELY!
Tanglewood review

REYNOLDS COURSE
I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS COURSE FOR OVER 30 YEARS. I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE LAYOUT HOWEVER IN RECENT YEARS IT WAS QUITE "SHAGGY". BERMUDA FAIRWAYS DORMANT BUT A GOOD SURFACE TO HIT OFF OF. A FEW ROUGH SPOTS IN FAIRWAY BUT THE GREENS WERE THE HEALTHIEST I HAVE SEEN THEM IN MANY YEARS. WILL PROBABLY PLAY AGAIN NEXT WEEK. DEFINITELY WILL PLAY IT A LOT WHEN IT TURNS GREEN. CAN'T WAIT!!!
been playing this course for many years. It's a great course for for almost any player. It helps to have some game though
Well maintained
Good conditions considering the cold, wet weather we've had lately.
Great tough course. Super greens plays long
Played in the fall and damp windy. Course tough. Greens fast to hard to read. Bring your a game
Bring Your Sandwedge
Fun course to play! Bring your beach shovel, rake and bucket. Lots of sand traps and beautiful greens. Deer sightings and other wildlife! Great value!!
Tanglewood East
Tanglewood Reynolds course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones. Excellent bent grass greens, some have 4 tiers. Roll true. Dormant bermuda fairways and rough in the winter. Doglegs both ways, so you need to be able to work the ball both ways. Plenty of sand, fairway and greenside. Big deodara cedars line #16 fairway. This course is GORGEOUS. I have played it hundreds of times. I love it. Staff is superb. Good grill.
Nice Winter Round
Played in early December on a rather windy day. Course conditions were certainly above average for this time of year. Played at a very nice pace - below 3 1/2 hours on a Wednesday. Top notch staff - friendly and helpful.
