Scenic
Great Mountain Course
Very scenic and lush
Pace of play can vary from fast to slow
Great views and a break from
The heat. I would recommend the drive once a summer
Top of the World
True mountain golf on a course in great condition. A one of a kind.
Great, tough Mountain Course
Beautiful views and rolling hills absolutely define this course. So much interesting elevation change that club selection is vital to either get up to the green or make sure you don’t overshoot it. Driver not necessary on every hole which is a nice change from most courses near here. Greens rolled smooth and for the most part true. 10/10 would recommend.
Wow
What a course. From the staff, to the course. My experience was amazing. The views are beautiful and the whole course will test you. You will not find one hole that doesn’t. Very much Recommend
What a Beautiful Day
So first of all the weather is Phenomenal, about 20° cooler. This was our first time playing this hidden gem. Everything was definitely in line as it was not very crowded so we were able to tee off early. We will definitely be returning here as not only the price was attractive but again the layout the challenge and just the overall beauty of this course was a home run for my self and my father…
Olde Beautiful
Course was in great shape, #17 green has some issues, but the rest were perfect! Views awesome as always, Please note that the course has not gotten easier! LOL , Its a placement course, you will need their yardage book or gps if you’ve never played it, and good luck then. Course is tight and a great test of golf. True mountain golf course with extreme lies if you get out of position and sometimes when you’re in position. Many say it’s tricked up, not my observation, You can score well if don’t try to overpower the course and think your way thru it. It is one of the more difficult golf courses that I have ever played, but I love a challenge! Enjoy!!!
Beautiful Course!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful but challenging course! The back nine provides beautiful mountain scenery -- awesome! The staff was super friendly, and we had great service/food from the grill. I look forward to returning to Olde Beau SOON!!
Beautiful scenery and incredible greens.
The course isn’t real long but it is really difficult if you can’t place the ball where you want to. If you can place the ball, you can score really good.
Best spot in NC
As someone who lives in the village of Pinehurst- its pretty obvious that I know great golf courses & have access to about 30 gems within a 45 minute drive- that being said- the 2 1/2 hour trek to Roaring Gap to play Olde Beau is always SOOO worth it!!! What a phenomenal golf course- staff- & collection of mountain vistas!!! My favorite in NC & somewhere I always take visiting friends
Ball strikers paradise
Great course, layout is challenging but accessible, greens are a bit slow but true. There’s a little bit of everything on those golf course- water and sand guarding greens, uphill and downhill shots. Driver is not necessary on all par fours, shot makers paradise.
Nice course
Nice course liked the layout. Steep up and down hill are challenging. Don't like the short par 3s but that is just personal preference. Fairways and tee in good shape. Greens had been plugged but that was timing on us. Will definitely play again later when greens are healed up
The Best Views!!
The course is challenging but fair. The views are spectacular on minimum 13 holes out of 18! I can't wait to come back here to play again!!
I never complain about punched greens. Nor will I. This place knows how to do it. Greens rolled great in spite of recent aerification. Shane in the pro shop is down to earth and friendly. One of my favorite places that is always in top notch condition. The tee boxes are impeccable. Definitely worth the "drive".
This course is beautiful!
The only downside was the greens. A lot of sand but I’m sure it due to the warming of the season and getting the grass to grow correctly! Other than that, it was absolutely beautiful!
