Great Course - would play again.
Thursday at noon tee time, it was an overcast day and no one was on the course so lucky me. Course is in great shape. Not very long, great par 3’s (on the front 9, back nine are ok) and short par 5’s that are very scoreable. All the classic Donald Ross features are present ( blind tee shots, extreme uphill/downhill approaches, really tricky greens with lots of undulation.) The routing of the course is very unique, it sort of takes you all over the place. I mention this because I walked and it was a little tough to try and find the next hole, but definitely wouldn’t be a problem if you take a cart. Not a ton of holes where you can hit driver.
Very enjoyable round.
When you see a hot deal tee time I highly suggest getting it. This course is a little over priced at rack rate. However at under 100 it’s worth it.
Conditions were great as well as the views. Staff was very friendly. Also a great spot for a drink over looking course and sunset up at the hotel. Played for my second time with two friends who both immensely enjoyed their rounds. Will be back.
Great Golf
I have played thus course for years, Always enjoy it!
Overpriced and overhyped
First time playing this course. Also the last time I’ll play it. Omni is VERY PROUD of this layout. For $165, you get no range, limited practice putting greens, average boring layout, and sandy greens. Most of Donald Ross courses are wonderful, this one isn’t. What a waste of time and money.
Beautiful layout, fast greens
Loved this golf course . Pace of play excellent . Greens very fast.
Great Donald Ross
A challenging Ross course where you will hit every club in the bag and when you finally get to the green your putter must really pay attention to all the swales you will come across. Thoroughly enjoyed playing.
Venerable old course
This course is beautifully maintained. The layout offers numerous options with tee choice. Because it is a hotel amenity it has many first time players that makes the course more challenging. It would be great to call this my home course.
Didn’t have a reservation, They said GolfNow screwed up,
There is no easy way to contact GolfNow when there problem. The golf course claimed they had no reservation, ruined my afternoon. Not sure if I ever use Golf Now again.
Omni Grove Park Inn
Course was in ok condition but is not a “resort quality course”. Omni is a 5 Star resort but the golf course is not. No GPS on the carts. Price is too high for this quality of golf course.
Would recommend
The staff is top notch. Views are spectacular on the back 9 and the pace is quick. The greens and fairways were in great shape overall.. Price point maybe a bit high, but a very nice round.
