Very nice layout
Great play during the week or on a weekend. Mid-afternoon was very open play.
A Challenge and Fun
We found this course a challege, with holes presenting choices of shots and a defferent looks as you prgress through the round.
Good for mixed couple with various tee positions. I wish thye still had the llama in use, it would be unique.
Enjoyable course with exceptional housing surrounding the course.
Well Maintained
Vey hot, humid day with a brief thunderstorm, but was able to continue play. Staff was courteous, course was in good shape. Tee boxes could use some help , but the rest of the course was well maintained, and proved to be a good challenge for me and the wife.
Always a fun course
I thoroughly enjoy this layout. Each hole is unique and has some sort of challenge. The course is always in great shape and I enjoy the multiple tee boxes, which are not just afterthoughts. I play here whenever I'm in the area.
Cool Place
My boys and I went there before the US Open for a round. Staff started a shotgun start at 8:00 and had two pairings on each hole. It went very smoothly and we were on Pinehurst #2 by 1:00... Pretty cool idea.
Give it a try
Came here the day after the US Open. Had an 8 o'clock tee time and the pro shop told me we where at 14a.... Not sure where this was coming from, I asked why we are starting at 14 and he stated that we are going off at a shotgun start in order to get the most amount of players out at once. I was hesitant and walked to my cart, proceeded to 14 and started my round. Never really pushed by any group nor waiting. Great golf.
Rolling fairways made for good fun
Enjoyed the many changes in elevation and occasional blind shots. Greens were slow, for the most part; fairways generally in good shape, but some had a few thin, brown spots. Roughest looking tee box conditions I've ever seen.
Real restrooms on course would have been a plus, instead of one Port-o-Potty on each side, and no hand sanitizer!
I do get annoyed at courses that don't show even basic hole layouts on the scorecard. Guess they want to sell their course booklets in the pro shop.
Lovely course very scenic
Course plays longer then yardage and challenging. Tee boxes need a little work but greens and bunkers in good shape while fairways almost there.
Talamore - a good track!
Overall course in very good condition. Not mowing the greens tight kept me from rating excellent. They are currently keeping the greens long in order to maintain no burn out.
Could have played faster
Showed up at the course an hour early. Staff would not let us tee off early. 1st because we had an afternoon rate, then because we used Golf Now and their policy dictated no early tee offs for Golf Now. There was a 3 some that teed of just as we got there. The tee sat open for 45 minutes. After a 45 minute wait another 3 some made the turn off of #18. Then a 4 some teed off, we followed the 4 some. The 4 some allowed us to play through. We finished in 3 1/2 hours. Could had played faster and finished sooner, if the Staff had been more flexible.
nice course but
I enjoyed playing the course, the greens were a little slow but the staff was great
Great place to play
Played on Memorial Day weekend. Course was in ver good shape even though the greens were punched two weeks ago. Pace of play was excellent. Played in under 3.5 hours. Staff was very friendly. We will definitely be coming back to play this course again. Would have loved to play the course when they used the llamas as caddies.
Talamore is a great course
My wife & I played, and it was in good condition, challenge of the course was good.
I'd play it again,
Good for the money
Got a hot deal off golf now and couldn't complain about the price. Fairways were a little dorment compared to others in the area but greens were great and pace of play was great.
Nice layout, fair test of golf.
Arrived at 8:00 for an 8:30 tee time. Staff was friendly and pro shop wasn't loaded with goods, but enough to get by. Clubhouse was clean overall. About a third of the tee boxes needed a little attention, the fairways were in pretty good shape...maybe a 7/10. The practice putting green was pretty bad, maybe a fungus got it or something. So I was scared about the course greens. Not to worry, the were in nice shape. Rolled true, few ball marks, and speed was about a 9-10 on the stimp. The layout of the course is a nice one, the uphill opening par 5 is a fun start. The visuals of the course just didn't "pop" so to speak. Not really green, but not yellow either, kinda mixed. I assume a dose of nitrogen might green it up really well. Played with my foursome in 4&1/2 hours, so pace was well. Shot a 75 from the white tees (7 handicapper) which was great since I've never played the course. If I lived here, I'm sure I'd play it again. From a vacation standpoint, probably not...they'd need to up the course conditions a bit.
Talamore Rules
Greens were slower than before but in very nice shape. Played in two and half hours. We always enjoy this course
Good challenge and layout
We really enjoyed the course and layout. The greens had been punched and hadn't healed; therefore the putting wasn't enjoyable.
However, we enjoyed the day the layout and would return again when green conditions improve.
Fantastic all around
Fantastic course, service, location, condition. I was very very impressed- and the price I got on golfnow was unbeatable.
Not a good experience
Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Talamore Golf Course. I found the facility under-manned, and the slow pace of play caused me to end my round after only 9 holes. I arrived at the course early due to a schedule cancellation, and the staff informed me that I would be held an hour and a half because I had paid an "afternoon" rate. I decided to leave and find business to complete and returned. With only one ranger, one desk staff, and one grill staff, everything took too long. The course was backed up on a Monday and when I realized my round was going to run into five hours, I left after the 9th hole. I understand slow play, but the lack of consideration shown to me with an open course (no one on tee box or in sight of tee box) I did not appreciate being held back. I will not play at Talamore, even if the golf were free. I will inform all of my golf buddies about the experience and recommend that they not play the course. There are too many great facilities in our area to patronize one that is not golfer friendly. This was the first bad experience I had encountered in 35 rounds secured with GolfNow.
Enjoyable round
Enjoyed our round here. Pretty course with rolling hills. Water only in play on one hole, but plenty of bunkers. Course is very spread out, so would be difficult to walk it. Homes are setback from the course, so not much chance of getting on someone's property. Would play again at hot deal rate, but would not play at regular rates, especially when cart path only.
