Inexcusable
This review is all about pace of play. The Fazio course is exceptional. 5 and a half hours to play however, is inexcusable. No effort was made to move along play. 5 hours the day before on Nicklaus. (in record heat) Wrote to the resort and received no response
Course always in great condition
Little pricey but always try to play when I’m vacationing in Central Oregon.
This course is beautiful.
This couse is beautiful. The staff is off the hook friendly. Every staff member we walked by checked on us to see if we needed anything. The course was challenging and you will hit every club in your bag. We had a great experience.
Course Condition Substandard
I have played here over a dozen times and the greens were the worst ever. They were bumpy, sandy and looked diseased in places. Now, as usual, the rest of the course was great, layout amazing, pace good and staff friendly and helpful. I agree with the previous reviewer, it was unusual that we also had no starter and never saw a Marshall all day. I am not complaining, we knew the course and it was not very busy. However, for many golfers the greens are a benchmark for course conditions, Pronghorn’s are not yet up to what should be expected. I won’t go back until at least the middle of June to give the greens a chance to heal. Finally, “good news/bad news”. They have new GPS screen carts, good news. Bad news, they are the “Nanny State” kind that stop working if you dare venture to your car, or slightly off their predetermined area.
Over rated
The course lay out was very good. Greens had much to be desired.
Hospitality was non-existent as no starter to provide the lay of the land nor share there were green sheets available which are imperative without GPS for walkers. No beverage services available while on the course. Also, called the pro shop from the 4th tee to ask about green position sheets & employee confirmed two walkers prior to committing to have someone bring out the pin sheets but the person who delivered them said they only had one with no remedy for getting one more.
Lastly, very poor on course sinage for walkers. Thus, VERY underwhelming experience at a 4 star rated resort.
We hope others experiences are better than ours.
Friendly staff, great people to meet!
I really like pronghorn Nicklaus course. It is still early in the year after winter and the greens are healing. Fairways are nice. Still lots of spots on greens.
I really enjoy playing pronghorn. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I like the beauty and scenery. It’s fun meeting new golfers.
great promo for pronghorn
played the nicklaus course and really enjoyed it. fine layout with many holes requiring finesse off the tee for line and distance. some beautifully aligned holes with very scenic background of the cascades. course conditions were fine including fairly tight fairways and slippery greens. l'll be back.
Great Golf Course
Played several courses near Bend in the last few weeks and this was at the top of the list. Got lucky we picked such a perfect day where the weather was nice and we had the whole course to ourselves it seemed. The staff was super nice and the course was in fantastic shape. I'll be back here for sure hopefully before the rates go to $200.00
Keep up the great work and it met or exceeded my expectations.
Excellent Course
Course was great, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great experience
Good course with beutiful scenery. Weather was cold and dry, as one would expect, middle of March in high desert. Saturday was much busier than Sunday, but I happened to get stuck behind slower players Sunday. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Overall, worth it.
Two Couples
Foursome on a great weather play day. Will be back to play once plug maintenance has had a chance to grow in (greens were bumpy). Overall great value for the playability and that is comparing it to Scottsdale Troon course, Bandon Dunes, etc. We look forward to returning.
