Course very scenic, but difficult.

The course was in EXCELLENT condition, but there is no room for error. You have to keep it in play or your going to lose a lot of balls. On an average round I may lose 1 or 2 balls around, today I lost 9. TOO many blind shots and long carries, even from the WHITE TEES. All in all had a Good Time. Would play again, BUT not with EXPENSIVE golf balls.

Impossible to play regardless of handicap

My husband and I stayed for a month at Lake Harmony. Bob has a 10 handicap and I try to golf, usually shoot just over 100. We arrived at 7:40 for our 8 am tee time. There was a gentleman there who had a 7 am tee time and was still waiting to go out on the course because the pro shop manager didn't arrive until after 8 am and the starter wouldn't let anyone go out until they had checked in at the pro shop. Not a good start.

This is not a course you can walk, which is our preference. So we assume that with a cart, play should take about 3 1/2 hours. But this course was impossible. You could not see ANY of the greens from the tee box. If you are not familiar with the course you simply don't know where to hit the ball. The rough is maintained as "rough" and balls are easily lost in the thick tall grass. But the worst part of the course was the "swamp land" that sat right smack in the middle of most of the fairways. So, for my husband, even when he hit a perfect first shot, he never had a chance to get on the green in regulation because the swamp took up so much of the fairway and needed to be navigated. asked them about this after the round and they said that the land is protected and they were not allowed to touch it. But for the good player and the worst player..... it makes the course a nightmare and really not fun to play at all.

The course has 27 holes and we played 18, and I don't know what the other nine were like.

My husband said that he would never play the course again even if he had a free coupon.

Directly across the way is Jack Frost Golf Course and I would highly recommend that course instead.

Good value

I have a feeling that this review would trend in an even more positive direction if I had played the course on a non precipitous day. I plan to go back and play again.

Well.........................................

Tale of two nines......
The back nine of the North course was closed (I guess), so I was directed to the South 9 for my back nine. The South nine is waaaaaaay worse than the first North nine. My guess is the South 9 was the original golf course, and it shows. Would never play the South again unless forced.

That being said, the North 9 I saw is an OK course. It meanders through some really nice woodlands, and it has the potential to be a really good course. However, as of today, the greens are still recovering from aeration, and they are really shaggy. I'm talking hit it as hard as you possibly can with your putter, and you'll probably get it close.

Nice folks, but who has a PRIVATE TOLL ROAD into a golf course ? Irks me a bit to have to pay $1 to get on the property.

Wouldn't go back. Too many other courses around.

Tough, but decent course

I played 5/10/13 and played the back 9 of North and the south 9. I believe the front 9 was being sanded.

I was greeted by the gate guard who didn't accept credit cards and wouldn't let me through the gate (why charge $1 to get in anyway?) After that ordeal, I started on the back 9 of North and man this course is tough. You'll have some interesting shots to very VERY well guarded greens by trenches and fescue and lakes. There's no easy hole on this entire 9. Plenty of blind tee shots and ways to lose balls. The round was after a bit of rain so the greens were rolling extremely slow, which is excusable.

Some tee boxes were terrible especially on the South course. The south is only about 3000 yards from the tips and is where I'd recommend for beginners, if you can hit a 220 yard tee shot every time, you may shoot par honestly.

The overall feel of the course is a bit set back in time. Almost like Great Gorge in NJ. Very 70's in the buildings that surround the course and area. Could use some sprucing up. The club house is brand new and gorgeous though.

Overall I'd play if it was cheap enough. Not dying to get back out here. There's better more fair courses in the Pocono area with better maintenance.

Very Nice

This was a very nice course at a resort. We had to pay $1.00 to enter the resort, a little strange. The course was really nice though, the cashier was nice, the starter was very nice. A thinking mans course. Having never played here before, we instantly had a twosome waiting on us. We let them and another play thru and then wound up waiting on a foursome. Resort golf!!! We can't wait to go back though, as the leaves are starting to turn and the scenery should be outstanding, just hoping they clear the course of fallen leaves. Go there and enjoy!
