Decent layout.
We reached the course an hour early, we had drove up from the Tampa FL area. So we asked if we could go out then and was told the course was fully booked, so we had to wait. During the first 30 mins, only a twosome went out. So after 30 mins I inquired again and we were told we could go out.
The front 9 played okay, nothing spectacular about the course. The greens were inconsistent, some played faster than others. After we finished the front, we got to the back and there was a group on the 10th green, a group in the fairway and a group on the teebox, with a single also waiting to hit, who we had let play through. So the 1st tee was wide open and we decided to play the front again. We did get chastised for doing that, but was allowed to play. There was a twosome behind us and they told us we did not hold them up.
Everyone who we worked there that we came in contact with had a negative attitude. So that is why, I wouldn't recommend the course. I just want to play golf, not have someone who takes there job to seriously, to think they can speak to me disrespectfully.
Great course but terrible pin placement
Overall this is an amazing course. I’m not sure why but the pin placements were absolutely terrible but the greens are in good condition. Most of the pin placements were on a slope in the back of the green. I’m not sure if they had a greens keeper revenge tournament earlier in the day or something but it sure felt like it. I would definitely play this course again when the pins are relocated.
Best of Santee
Everything was perfect. Only criticism is the cart path on the back nine is in need of repairs.
Visited Santee National Again
The course been a favorite of ours to play for years now and look forward to playing when we are in Manning SC Visiting family. The course was just as rated great condition.
Play and enjoy it as we do when we visit.
enjoy this course
its a must play if you are in the area drove from Manny SC to play not that far away but its always a course we e enjoy ,the course was in great shape and greens rolled fast.
First time player
Course was in great shape considering time of year.
Counter help was very courteous and polite.
Would have like to seen better yard marking and there was no marshal to keep track of slow play
Front nine took over 3 hrs to play resulting in not enough time to finish round before running out of daylight
Best around for the money!
Worth driving from Columbia for a nice Saturday morning round. Paired up with a nice group and pace of play was reasonable. Will continue to come back as I have for several years. 5⭐️
Great course
Great conditions and empty; what more can you ask for
Great shape
Course is phenomenal for the price. I play several big dollar courses that is not in the same ball park of conditions . Thanks to the staff there for maintaining the course.
Fun course to play
Santee National was in excellent condition when I played. It’s not terribly long and very playable. I shot an 89 and I don’t think I hit a solid iron shot all day. The greens were quick, but rolled smoothly and I felt like most putts were malleable. Would love to play it again.
Great course
It’s been several years since I’ve played Santee and I was not disappointed in any way. The course was in great shape from tee box to green. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Thoroughly enjoyed my round there despite my score.
