Experience golfers delight
Beautiful and challenging course...priced right for winter play...will play again...worth the drive
Nice Place to Play
Nice scenery, several holes on the lake. The course conditions were very acceptable especially for winter time. I always enjoy playing here.
Great day
The course was in great shape and it was a pleasure playing there.
Nice course
Great course. Nice views, affordable, only complaint was it was wet due to rain.
Great course
This was my first time playing at Hickory Knob and it is an excellent course. It was in great shape. It is challenging but not too bad. I will definitely be back.
Great Little Gem
Had been a few years since I played “The Knob” but as usual it will humble you. Tight fairways and great scenery. Greens were a little slow, but we had just had rain a day or so before. Best bang for your buck in the area. It’s worth the ride!
Natural beauty
Nice course. Great scenery . Nice layout big elevation in front nine back nine flatter. Enjoyed my day. Great value
Beautiful course at a great value and the folks are always friendly.
Wonderful course.
I played this course once over 35 years ago and only remembered that is was a fun course. I wasn't disappointed this round. The course is in excellent shape, fairways and greens. Pace of play was great. Not knowing the course got me in trouble a couple of times but I'll know better next time. The only negative is the long drive from Newberry but I will make the trip again, soon I hope.
Only getting better
I have been playing Hickory Knob on and off since 2013. The course right now is the best it has ever been. I believe they have a new Superintendent and he is doing a remarkable job. The fairways are excellent and he is now bringing all the greens back. The greens are still a bit slow but getting better. Bravo to the new Super. Worth the trip, give it a try.
Very challenging layout. Great condition. Staff super friendly.
Scenic Course
Great Staff. Scenic course and being wooded it is easy to play the course without being exposed to the sun all day. State Park run and very well kept. Need cart paths repaved but other than that great time.
Worth the drive!
Hickory Knob golf course has a somewhat difficult front nine that winds through the woods with tight fairways, doglegs, and elevation changes. The back nine is more wide open and flatter. The course is set beautifully on the lake with water coming into play on numerous holes. Greens and fairways were lush and the overall condition was great. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Bring your A game.
Check out Hickory Knob!!
Took an hour drive to play here for first time. Enjoyed course layout - elevation changes, tight fairways on some holes, tricky pin placement on undulating greens. Overhead satellite views don't do this place justice. Fairways were in good shape. Most tee boxes were level and cut. One green had issues in one corner (#13, Par 3). Greens were slow (clubhouse shared before play) but consistent. Will plan to make a return trip this year.
Nice little honeyhole
Nice little getaway. Bout an hour drive from me. Not to crowded. Tough but fun layout. Greens and fairways were great. Great price. Good scenery
