Great. But….. late with our t-time then 5 hours to play.
Could have been a great day 1 1/2 hours to play last few holes 8 minute t-times are not enough for bad golfers who have no concept. They told us to go to #10 tee when actually we were on #1. Then had to wait twenty five minutes for three other groups making the turn which I think is the fault of the club thank you mark gofran
Clustered
I’m not sure what to say, the course layout was great, and in decent condition. The bunkers were destroyed. I don’t know if that was in part to rain or just general disrepair, but some had standing water, others had collapsed on the side, which for a Dye designed course, finding a bunker was inevitable. We arrived and our tee time had been pushed 15 minutes back because of the volume of people playing. We had to start on the back 9, which seemed weird because the starter said the front 9 was holding everything up. Skipping ahead didn’t make much since considering we didn’t tee off until 20 minutes after our tee time because of the back up on the 10th tee. Enjoyed the course minus the bunkers. Great layout. Made the turn and the snack shop had closed because it was slow. That also didn’t make since because the snack shop covers three courses and there were plenty of people trying the door to make purchases while we were there taking bathroom breaks.
Long story short, I like the course. Needs some bunker repair, but that may be due to recent weather. Wouldn’t come back due to the pace and general chaos, unless it were a slow day in the middle of the week or a 1st light tee time.
First time New Yorker here
Got there and as a a pre-booked solo I still had trouble getting grouped in. Had to start on the 11th tee. Never got back to the 10th to hit and complete the round since it was so busy and extremely slow pace with waiting at times throughout the course.
Great features
I love the course the layout the people at the starting area where we put our bags in the parts for great wall signed the shop or great or starter was a prank he was not very nice so just was not a very good people person
Busy
The place was slammed with play, so I understand why the outside staff was less than outgoing.
The course was great even though the greens were slow.
The only complaint I have is that you can’t take a cart to the range. They don’t even give you a cart till like 5 minutes before your tee time. The practice facilities are great.
Good, not great
The outside staff were not the friendliest, and nobody could get a cart to go to the range, so had to walk about 200 yards to hit balls. The practice facilities are fantastic.
The course had some fantastic holes and from the tips it is quite a challenge. The greens were a little slow, but rolled pretty true.
Dont play in summer
Pete dye design gone bad I was very disappointed. Hit driver into the fairway pluged on a few holes. Casual water every other hole . Bunkers soaking wet . Didn't rain for three days at least for the money tourist pay $80 and up definitely wont play this dump again
Moorland
Over 5 hours Course was a little rough around the edges. Nicer courses out there for the money
Worth Playing
The course is in great condition, from tee boxes to fairways, through the greens. Played 5 different courses this week and Parkland was in the best condition by far.
Awesome
We loved the Moreland so much, my group did a 18 hole replay. So for 36 holes I got see this course. Challenging, fun, excellent conditions. Look quality matters: we played a course just a few miles away and it was soupy… it really was un payable. So when we got to the Legends property we were very pleased. Both at breakfast and lunch, the wait staff was so friendly. The club house bathrooms are clean, the guys loading us up were cool. They were willing to drive you over to the practice range, went out their way to put more ice in our cooler for the replay. Everything at the Legends was easy breezy (except the golf).
Excellent
The staff was great and you couldn’t beat the lunch and drinks included in the fee. Great value for the money. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Many thanks!!!!
Nice but slow
Front 9 average pace. Back 9 painfully slow. I get booking front and back at the same, but maybe 2 to 4 less foresomes. 3 to 4 forsomes at the turn is painful. Lost momentum of game and back 9 became forced.
Enjoyable
Nice course. Many friends told me I should play it. Good value with 2 meals and 2 beers. Decent shape. Pace of play only complaint. Front 9 2hrs 10min. Back 9 took 2hrs 40min.
Worth the play
Challenging course. Not overly long but demands you keep it in the fairway. Greens held approach shots yet putts were true and fast. If you come to Myrtle Beach to play golf then make sure you have these courses on your short list.
Great course but too slow
Loved the buffet breakfast, sandwiches and drinks for lunch. Very very good layout, long and challenging. Just too slow…..5 hour round.
