Over priced
Course was charging full price for air greens or heavily sanded it should not have been full pricr
Terrible greens
Played today and as previous reviewers stated, the greens are in terrible condition. The course is pretty difficult which was fun, but with the condition of the greens it made the round not much fun.
Come Early
The Legends still has the quaint idea that players like to walk to the driving range, and then to the putting green. So come early to give yourself enough time to warm up. The greens had been recently aerated so not in good shape today. Wait at least two more weeks before playing.
The staff was uncharacteristically grumpy today. The pace of play was slower than the usual, partially due to wet conditions and cart path only.
Driving range mats should have been replaced some time ago.
Still like the layout at Heathland.
Terrible Pace of Play
Beautiful course and challenging. Unfortunately when we turned the bend, hole 10 was backed up and had 3 groups on it. It took us 1 hr to play 10, 11, 12. Pace of play from that point on was miserable and although rangers drove by they did nothing to help accelerate pass of play. Seems like people had pkg deals and "all" day with no sense of pace of play or they added people off back 9.
Either way, what was a beautiful course turned into a very frustrating experience.
Great course
Super challenging. Very crowded tho. Hard to get to range. Show up early for sure
Pete Dye special
It was hot, humid and cart path only. The course was a little wet but not terrible. It was a long day of golf considering all the walking but the course held up to our expectations. The fairways were in great shape and the greens rolled true and quick in spite of the 6 inches of rain they had over the last 5 days. Has been a favorite and will play it again
Mother Nature's Revenge
As my 12:44 Tee Time approached the clouds opened up and let loose a Biblical down pour. Thus my heightened anticipation of playing this course was washed out. I received an 18 month valid rain check however. Since I live close to Myrtle Beach, I'm not inconvenienced with this option. If not, I would surely feel very inconvenienced.
Wouldnt recommend
The course was so slow. 3 groups on every hole. It came a huge storm. No alarm, when we got back tit he club house. They wouldn’t give us a rain check for 9 holes even tho we had only finished 10 holes
Great course, look for hot deals
Course was in great conditions. Nice layout. Greens were rolling true and fast (not sky rocket fast!). Nice course to play, but not at 160$. Would replay, but with a hot deal at 115$.
Note : The marshall told us to play from the green tees (5 300 yds) and he did not even asked our handicap. He told us that we will thank him later... I have found that cocky.
Enjoyable round
The course was in great shape. It is a challenging layout, but playable for all levels. Greens were lightning fast, but the 30 mph - 40 mph winds may have made them somewhat faster than normal. Price was fair for that area. I played better and worst in the same price range. I would say it is a little above average for the price.
