Good challenge
This was our first time playing this course. It was a good challenging course with lots of sand traps and water. Some fairways were tight and a lot of small rolling mounds all over the course was a nice feature. I would definitely play it again. The only part that was not so great. The greens were not in very good condition. A lot of patches. Overall, a good course and would rated a great course if the greens were in better condition.
Course
Course was very nice, but the greens had some disease, and they weren't in good shape
Once they fix this issue, it will be rock solud
Unfortunately all the greens are in bad shape…..this is not the norm. I’m sure they will get them under control. Other than that it’s an outstanding course.
I have seen better cow pastures
I have been playing golf for 60 years and have never seen greens in such bad shape. The tees, and fairways are just average, but playable. What happened to all the greens?
The man at the counter in the pro shop was not very friendly to the patrons. Maybe he is also the Head Greenskeeper.
Hope this course can fix their problems soon, because it seems like it could be a fun track to play.
I won’t be back anytime soon.
So so
Not the friendliest guy, telling us to leave our clubs when I told him we are perfectly capable of putting them on the cart ourselves. Then when he place them on cart, had to undue them just to get to my towel as he had it wrapped so tight!
MB Golf
Course was nice overall but the Greens were terrible.
Worst greens ever
Palmetto course claims that they offer well-manicured Bermuda grass greens.
This could not be further from the truth!
The greens were fungus diseased and not playable.
If you like to play golf on a golf course that does not include putting, this course is for you.
Don’t waste your money. There are many other fine courses in Myrtle Beach that you can enjoy a round of golf on.
Terrible condition
The greens were severely damaged. All greens had areas of damage and patches of no grass at all. Fairway conditions were poor with the same problems. It could have been from too much rain but other nearby courses were in much better condition. There was no mention of the conditions online or in the pro shop. I found out from the starter on #1. No discounted rate either. The cost was nearly $100 and you at times could not move your ball on the green to find a way to avoid the damage areas. Wait a few months and ask before you book this course.
Worst Course in Mrytle
Worst course I’ve ever played. They shouldn’t even allow people on this course. I was told the greens were punched but that would have been the best case scenario. You can not classify that as a green I’ve seen terrible neighbors with better grass than this course.
Greens are currently unplayable
Greens are currently unplayable. staff and everyone was very friendly and they gave each player 2 free drinks as an apology before the round started for the green conditions. The greens are unplayable. half dirt and the ball bounces everywhere like crazy. there’s no true roll. for $90/player you should expect playable conditions and it was far from it. i’m sure it’s something they are working through diligently but there’s no chance anybody should EVER pay $90 for that. Fairways/tees are in good shape. Just can’t see how they aren’t discounting green fees for players. last complaint is they sent off a 5some at 820 in thr morning. backing up the entire course. we teed at 830 and finished at 1:05.
Greens were terrible
Didn't know until we checked in that the greens were in bad condition. The staff was friendly and provide drink vouchers and sleeve of balls. They stated the greens were not up to their standards, I would say they wouldn't be up to anybody's standards. I'll call ahead before I reserve, I enjoy the course, but the greens were not playable.
Un-puttable
Save this course until the greens are repaired and healthy. When you're given a sleeve of Callaway balls and 2 free drinks upon checking in, you know that the course is not up to "par". Greens are damaged. Muddy patches, bumpy, slow.
Greens were terrible
The course was not in good shape. We paid 93.00 which was way too much for the condition. The staff was rude and not very helpful. Like a first time player should know everything . Only one guy was nice and helpful there. Rest were rude and need training for what you pay they should be much more helpful.
Worst greens and weekend pace of play in the MB area
This would be a fun layout for any level of golfer. The green complexes have interesting undulations which would make putting a fun challenge, if they were playable. They were not. Every putt was affected by the uneven surfaces, rolling over patches of mostly dirt with scant grass. No consistency in speed or line. Only way to hole a putt was to be super lucky or to be inside tap in range.
Yes, there was a lot of rain recently which made it CPO due to soggy fairways. Pace of play is going to be much slower naturally but this was as slow as it gets. 3 hours for 9. Fortunately they gave rain check after I decided to bail after the front.
I'll be back later this summer to check it out, hopefully their upcoming punch and time will help these greens recover but they need a LOT of work.
The greens were pathetically bad.
Don’t waste your money to play this course. Wait until the greens come back.
The greens look disgusting and impossible to play golf on. The price should be severely discount.
The man in the pro shop tried to tell me the greens were okay to play on.
