About Tudor Oaks Inn
The Tudor Oaks Inn in Summerville, South Carolina, is a small outpost with only three rooms named after famous golf courses in Scotland (St. Andrews), England (Sunningdale) and Ireland (Royal Dublin). It sleeps only six, but staying has its perks: Access to the golf and tennis at the adjacent semiprivate club, the Legend Oaks Golf & Tennis Club, which offers the Bistro One18 restaurant. Tudor Oaks Inn, which also has an outdoor pool, is located within 25 minutes of Charleston and near three large plantations worth touring - Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and Drayton Hall.Facts

Great day.
The greens were a little inconsistent in that they appeared to be unevenly groomed. Fairways seemed a bit had as if not watered in a while. Overall had a great day though - beautiful setting.
nice course, walked and enjoyed the scenery
Course is well maintained and laid out. Enjoyed the length of course and the pace of play moved along well. Will definitely go back.
GOOD MIX OF HOLES
GREAT VALUE, FOR THE MONEY, VERY GOOD CONDITIONS.
I WILL PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN.
exceptional course with an exceptional staff
From our first steps onto the property we were treated to an exceptional experience. The staff treated us like old friends and made the check in process a breeze. A well stocked pro shop with well placed and value priced ad dons made shopping easy and fun. This was a surprising value, and the course was in fantastic shape. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will be back...count on it...
Bad play, not bad course.
Our foursome did not have a good day. Part of that was the fact that there are a ton of water hazards on the course. Mostly it was just poor play, so we can't blame the course for that. Having GPS on the carts helped determine how to miss the water hazards, we just didn't often enough. Course was in good shape and greens held well. Pace on the greens was a little slow, but not too bad.
Good course with plenty of challenging holes
Good course enjoyed the day some really challenging holes layout is good there is quite a lot of water
Great staff. Nicely maintained course.
When we arrived and presented our tee reservation paperwork, the gent in the pro shop asked if anyone in our group was a senior (age 50+) The 3 of us that were received an additional discount. The gal driving the beverage cart saw us twice on each 9 and was always very cheerful as was the gal at the snack bar. The grounds workers made sure to stop far enough away from us and idle the equipment engines or turn them off so as not to disturb or play. If you play from the correct tees for your skill level, you should enjoy this challenging and fun course. I would return in a heartbeat.
great staff
This course has the best staff.....friendly, attentive and fun. The course is well maintained, but has an area that could use attention. I am referring to the drainage issues (although not as bad as Shadowmoss), makes cart path only a usual condition playing here. I know this is not an easy fix, but it is worth mentioning so you don't want to book after a big rain. Other than that the course is in great shape with many water holes and deep bunkers, which makes this course fun to play. Moderately narrow fairways (not Crowfield narrow, but narrow none-the-less) also makes this course a challenge. The carts have GPS which are super accurate and fast, plus did I mention that the staff makes this course the second most fun course to play in the Charleston area under $100.
Great Course
Course was a little soggy due to all the rain the area had received but the GREENS were in excellent shape. Pace of play was slow due to Cart path only.
Great Challenge for the money
The day I played here it had been raining and rained off and on during our round. The wet course made it extremely long and with every hole tree lined and doglegging it was hard to get tee shots far enough down the fairway to have direct lines at the greens. Constantly needing to shape shots left and right. I really enjoyed the challenge and my scorecard showed how tough it was. I will definitely play it again.
Very good course, good value
I played early in the morning, so after several previous days of rain, the course was pretty wet. The course layout is very well done. The course has some challenging holes which require well directed shots. The greens were pristine and for the most part were very true. This is a good course for the novice as long as it is played conservatively. Challenging for the more experienced golfer if the pin placements are not center green. I liked the course. I shot a 95. My handicap is 21 so it plays to that level. The staff was very friendly.
Interesting Course
Not a bad little residential course, different design with sharp little doglegs and undulations. Well maintained and multiple teeing areas for every level of play. Built in GPS on the cart is a nice feature.
Amazing Golf Course
I purchased a two person voucher through golfnow.com and arrived 30 minutes prior to my tee time the next day. I believe first impressions are key in any facet of life and Legend Oaks definitely put their best foot forward. The pro staff at check-in chatted with us for a few and then, since it was our first time, welcomed us and gave us a through run down of the course. They then proceeded to give us an additional discount beyond what golfnow.com had gotten us. The staff we interacted with were friendly and professional.
I've played a number of courses around Charleston, San Diego and Hawaii and in that time, Legend Oaks ranks amongst the best. The tee boxes were clean, the fairways green and well defined and the greens were immaculate. Overall the course is challenging enough to test a seasoned golfers resolve, yet not so hard as to detour an upcoming beginners enjoyment of the game.
I would strongly encourage anyone who hasn't taken a run at this course to do so. My friend and I will be back for more soon. As its been said before, a bad day of golf is still better than a good day at work. Legend Oaks will ensure that your day of golf is outstanding.
Course was great considering all the rain we've had.
Course was good to go. The greens were a little rough from aeration and all the sand, but other than that it was a great place and a great value.
Could be much better
Course has nice layout staff was disorganized there is no driving range but does have hitting net, but there were only 8 balls. Greens were in terrible shape as we're apparently aerated two days ago . I understand it needs to be done, but someone should have told us prior to the round. Even a 3 footer was an adventure . I would not have played here if I would have known condition of greens. Took fun out of round
Bad Tee Time Management
A fun layout with great undulation (rare for a south east coastal course) is ruined by a lack of care when it come to tee times and sending groups out.
We were told around hole 6 by the cart girl that we, and the few groups in front of us, were the only ones on the course. There were 2 threesomes and a two some in front of us and that she was probably heading home.
we ended up playing the front 9 at 50 minutes over pace according to their gps units.
When we finished 9 we stopped to grab a bite and figured we'd let everyone get ahead of us for a little bit.
After eating we got to the 10th tee to find 3 different groups waiting on the tee box. after a 20 minute wait on the tee box we called the pro shop to see if we could just play the front 9 again since no one is moving, They said no that they just let some groups off the front nine and that things could be a bit slow since there are over 100 players on the course currently. They said they would send a marshal out to check on the groups in front of us to see if they could speed things up. Knowing there are only 11 people in front of us you're now telling me there are 100 people on the front 9????? Really? We're sitting on the 10th tee ... we can see the parking lot was nearly empty. Shouldn't take 5 hours to play an empty course.
Never saw the marshal either ....
Poor greens
Fairways good condition. Greens were horrible
They never told us that they had just been
worked on. Thank god I payed half the normal
Rate.
A good risk reward course
No starter. No bag drop personnel. greens were plugged which we were not notified of.
Beautifully maintained course; can be busy on Saturday mornings causing backups.
Even though we played in the peak of the summer, the course was lush and in excellent condition. The staff was friendly and apologized for the back-up at the first tee (sometimes experienced on Saturday mornings).
great course. somewhat challenging. excellent conditions
Time management. Course Marshall needs to better manage groups. Elders playing very early can back up an entire morning. Also, staff not exactly warm. A nice smile and hello go's a long way at 0730am.
