Nice course - would play again
My wife and I were paired with two other local guys (but new to the area) who introduced themselves and were friendly throughout and had comparable playing abilities. All the men played from the green tees; my wife played the orange tees.
The course had small practice areas - a small putting green between clubhouse and 1st tee; the range was just beyond the 1st tee and had 8-10 spots with mats.
The starter was on top of things and got everyone off in good order.
The course was in pretty good condition - fairways and rough were in the best shape, most greens were in pretty good shape (looked to have had a small tine aeration in recent weeks). Four to six greens had some minor bare areas but none impeded putting. Fringe areas around the greens were more bare and had signs of recent aeration and over-seeding. Putts rolled true but speed varied from green to green.
The cart paths on the entire back nine had recently been paved (asphalt) which made for smooth riding.
No short pars 3's - almost all were 150 yards+. A couple short par 4's; most had slight doglegs; Par 5's were scenic slow rolling doglegs and with hills.
Would play again if in the area.
Nice layout friendly staff
Good course to play wish I started on the back nine as we ran out of time before darkness and the back nine look to be nicer with more water holes.
Good Track
There was a lot of rain so it was pretty wet in a number of holes. That being said the greens were good and average firmness. It was very slow for a Tuesday. 4.5 hours for a twosome. Staff was great. There’s a good restaurant/grill there too. Overall I’d play it again. Check it out it’s worth it
Very Unwelcoming Staff Ruins Experience
Upon arriving at the Lake Tansi golf course, we were greeted with animosity and disdain for our general lack of knowledge about the course and its patrons. The members at the course were not happy that five out of town guests were there to play.
Though the course conditions were serviceable, the course: the layout of the course is unimaginative a basic. Most municipal golf courses have more character and creativity to their holes. The greens were smaller than most dinning room tables and were slower than you could imagine.
The pace of play was extremely slow and when we asked a ranger about the pace of play we were told to slow down and just deal with it. Furthermore, after a single caught up with us we invited him to play through or join our foursome and he elected to join the group. After playing 5 persons to a hole and no one behind us, a ranger approached us. The ranger explained that a member called the club house from their home and was upset that five people were playing together. Yes, this person who called the club house was not even playing golf, this give you an idea of what the members at this course are like.
Overall, the experience at this golf course is simply bad and the staff and members are to blame. Nobody in my group is ever planning to come back and will make sure to not recommend this course to any of our golf friends.

Close to home
The greens were recently aerated, still rolled good. Got to the turn and they closed the back nine for cart path resurfacing. We had to play the front again and it was crowded.
Course always in good shape.
The only complaint I ever have with this course is pace of play. The Hot Deals are always in the 11 or 12 o'clock hours and you are always behind groups that play pretty slow. 4 1/2 hours is about average for a Friday afternoon with some rounds slower than that. I love the course and it is always in good conditions.
Don’t play this course if you want to be hounded by the cart rangers. They’re disrespectful and think they run the show. Had a cart ranger pull a gun on a guy in our group. Play here quite often and play the Fairfield courses. Never once have I had to deal with this type of unprofessionalism. Your employees reflect on your business. I don’t think I can play here again until ownership or management has a revamp of policies and new cart rangers.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies.
We value our customers' opinions and would like to make things right and determine how we can provide a solution that makes you smile.

Very slow greens
In the past the greens have been very good but this year they have been extremely slow for the whole season

Outstanding Value
The place is immaculate. The staff exceedingly friendly. Best course I've played in recent memory. In the area for a week and will play it again before leaving. Can't say enough about great things about it.
Tansi Golf
Great parking, check in and staff. Course was in very playable shape considering the amount of rain we had. Greens were great . Rough was very rough. Layout of course is great. I will definitely be returning.
Wonderful course
Played Lake Tansi several times. Course layout conditions were wonderful. Staff accommodating and welcoming and made you feel at home. Played in 3 1/2 hours with several par 4’s cart path only due to wetness. Course is a challenge yet playable. Greens were a little slow but that is due to rain and time of year we played. Fairways in great condition and rough a challenge. Would recommend for all levels of play with 5 sets of tees. Looking forward to visiting the course when back next year.
Great place
Been bring a group here 2 times a year for over 25 years. It is always in Great shape and staff is always friendly.
Consistent
Lake Tansi is always well taken care of. This course, because they over seed) will be green in March when others are still dormant. I did notice about 13 of the 18 greens appeared to be a bit slower but this was probably mostly to guard them from the summer heat.
Love this course
Tee we boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. Greens had not been mowed since kids were going to play later. So, I was able to make some pits. I think this course can match any course in the county.
