The signature 7th is a prime example: beautiful, offers a risky opportunity and a safe one as well. Photo submitted by u388669693 on 07/06/2019

Second class citizen
I have played this course a number of times. I actually have their “twosome card.” But this time I booked through Golfnow because they beat the course rate considerably (not to mention I cannot use their own booking engine with my iPhone). I was treated like a second class citizen which the pro shop staff member actually said was because I booked through Golfnow. I even left before getting to play forfeiting my pre-paid round because of how I was treated. I am in absolutely no hurry to give this course any more of my money.
La Cantera
Great golf course. Greens are very good and the golf course is in great shape.
Great Course
Great course with an awesome staff. On course beverages are pretty expensive as well as being expensive even during happy hour at the 19th hole.
Cool day but a great round
Weather was cool staring early this am but warmed up. Fairways were in good shape. Greens Rolled well and seemed quick but not crazy fast. This is a resort course so not the longest, or the most difficult in the area but it has very scenic views but still a challenging layout. This course is a good example of Hill Country golf.
La Cantera Resort course review
The course was amazing, each hole had its own beautiful view, and the course was maintained perfectly, I loved golfing the course and simply had a great time.
Amazing place! Go play!
Top notch course a players course! But friendly enough for the handicapper at the forward tees! People were fantastic and the attention to detail including every aspect of the place was Outstanding!
Great day on links
Conditions of course good during range quite beat up. Pace was reasonably good but group in front constantly prodded to speed up as they were behind 30+ minutes but never picked it up. Greens good shape but had difficulty reading them.
Must course to play in San Antonio
I have played the La Cantera resort course about a dozen times in my life. It is a great course and a must for visitors to San Antonio that want a great golf experience. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Other than have a real slow group in front of us for the round (marshal did warn group about 5 times but did not help), the experience was wonderful as always! VIews are great!! One of my top 2 favorite courses in San Antonio!
Another Stunning San Antonio Court
I have fond memories of this day as it was my best ever round in competitive golf. But don't let that fool you, while this course is not as difficult as the Palmer course, it is still a tricky layout. I have shot a wild range of scores here from excellent to poor!
The course is an absolute picture and offers nice views of the surrounding hill country and the neighboring six flags fiesta theme park.
As for the course, I played off the gold tees I believe and if you are accurate with your driver you can score well here. There are many elevation changes, and therefore plenty of shots where you cannot see your landing area, or have to adjust your club to hit a target 50 yards below your feet.
The par fives are tight, but short, and do require accurate tee shots to allow you to shoot for the greens in 2. Hole 10 is a perfect example, with a good tee shot you can reach the front part of the green with a mid to long iron.
But it's not always a case of pulling out the driver. The par 4 12th places a premium on accuracy off the tee with a narrow front to back green requiring good distance control with your approach. With a ditch in front and bunker back, you don't want to make a mistake.
The entire field I was playing with had difficulty reading the greens - they were extremely grainy. The old trick of looking at the wear around the hole was a great help to me.
Excellent experience
All around a great time, definitely worth the money. And even tho I'm a local and I could "play this course all the time" if I wanted its definitely an experiance to say the least.
If your considering it, dont. Just go play this course and have fun!
A Fair Challenge with Excellent Fairway Conditions
Considering the recent hot temperatures and lack of rain, the course was in great shape. The greens had some sand (I assume from recent maintenance) but wwere in good shape and rolled true at a medium speed.
The picture of Texas Golf
Beautiful golf course and former site of the Texas Open. I played the sister Palmer Course the day before, and I found that course to be a step above. Challenging layout, if you aren’t in the fairway prepare to take a penalty. The greens were replaced within the last year and were sand packed leading to inconsistent speed and bumpiness issues. Unfortunately, I got paired up with a group that liked to re-hit every shot leading to a 5.5 hour round. I would play again but likely choose the Palmer Course if I had to pick one.
